Selecting the text to use in the TOC
Inserting the TOC into the document
TOC – Outline Levels Method
Go to View > Toolbars
and turn on Outlining
toolbar.
Select the text to use as a
heading in the TOC
Assign text to a level

Example 1: Table of Contents
Using lec2_report.doc, insert a table of
contents meeting these requirements:



Should be inserted after the title and before the
introduction.
Should contain 4 first-level headings
Methods and Procedures section should contain
4 second-level headings.

Type comment in the red bubble that appears next to the
