Choose one of the following topics:
1. Analysis of Controlling Character: Create and support an assertion regarding who is
the controlling character in Ethan Frome.
2. Analysis of Illusion: Explain how one or more characters in Ethan Frome lives in an
illusion. Be sure to include a discussion of what ‘illusion’ is (in your intro) and a discussion of
the ultimate outcome of living in such a manner.
