PRE-CALCULUS MATH 11 COURSE OUTLINE: TEACHER: Beth Ryynanen Room 234 Textbook: McGraw Hill Ryerson Mathematics 10 Teacher email: bryynanen@sd68.bc.ca Help site: ryynablog.wikispaces.com Grade 10 math review: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/search/ General : Students are expected to review material covered in class on a daily basis. There will be many quizzes to ensure students are up to date in their learning and understanding of the course material. Quizzes may be corrected for marks, however, corrections must state original error and show all steps of the correct solution. Test re-writes will be allowed, however, the student must complete all assigned work, a pre-test and corrections on the previous test before a re-write will be allowed. Test rewrites will only be allowed after school in study hall or an alternate time determined by the student and teacher. It is my philosophy that mistakes are an opportunity to learn, it is up to the student to take advantage of this opportunity. This course is very fast paced. We will be covering a new topic daily, it is really important that the student attends regularly and makes an effort to catch up on missed work if an absence is unavoidable. If the student is absent, for any reason, he/she is expected to complete missed assignments. You can email me at the above address and I will let you know what the student has missed. Go to ryynablog.wikispaces.com to access course outline and online help with assignments. Extra help is available during Study Hall in room 201 on Monday and Thursday after school. If your child is unable to attend these specific days, please contact me at the above email address to arrange for assistance outside of class time.
