Online Credit Recovery Program
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Credit Recovery is traditionally defined as a way to “recover” credit for a course that a student was previously
unsuccessful in earning academic credit towards graduation. Its primary focus is to assist students in staying
on track to graduate on time. Therefore to be successful in this credit recovery effort, students must be selfmotivated as well as disciplined learners who exhibit a strong, personal commitment towards earning credit.
If your child failed one of the following courses with a grade between 50—69, he or she is being given the
opportunity to participate in FREE Credit Recovery through Dutchtown High School.

Physical Science
Biology
Chemistry
Math III
Math IV
Government
World History
US History
English I – IV
Course Offered through Georgia Virtual
Economics
Earth Science/Systems
In order for your child to earn credit for the any of the above courses, you MUST agree to the following:
 Enrollment in Credit Recovery does not guarantee a passing score and the earning of credits.
 If your child fails to meet all requirements in order to earn credit for the course, he/she will be responsible for
obtaining the credit through another means, such as Faith Academy, BYU, etc.
 Students will have 6 weeks to complete their online course. In the event that you are NOT making adequate
progress toward completion, you will be removed from your course(s).
 As stated under Academic Honesty in the 2013--2014 Henry County Student and Parent Handbook, all
coursework submitted must be your own, original work. You must not cheat on any assignments by giving or
receiving unauthorized assistance or committing the act of plagiarism. If you commit such acts, you are subject to
receiving a grade of zero on the assignment in question, as well as disciplinary action and/or removal from Credit
Recovery.
