Name: ______________________________________________ Road Trip Project Date ____________ Description and Checklist Ready for a Road Trip? You will be following your favorite musical group or artist as they go on tour. You will complete a short biography about your favorite artist/group and identify two cities in which they will perform. You will "attend" concerts in those cities, as well as do some sightseeing by choosing one educational and one entertainment activity for each location, and obtain a song that you will include in your multimedia presentation to the class. Use Mapquest, Google Maps or Yahoo Maps to determine a driving route, mileage and driving time required for each city visited. Using the given cost of gasoline, calculate how much the trip will cost round-trip. Also, calculate the cost of concert tickets and those of the activities you have chosen. You will present all your information in a multimedia presentation – either PowerPoint, MovieMaker or on a Smartboard Notebook presentation. Be sure to work on the reflection – you need to do this as you start the project and as we finish it up! Open a copy, respond, and save it in your documents. We are Learning To: Evaluate information found in selected sources on the basis of accuracy, validity, and appropriateness for needs, importance, and social and cultural context. Use strategies to draw conclusions from information and apply knowledge to curricular areas, real-world situations, and further investigations. Connect ideas to own interests and previous knowledge and experience. Use interaction with and feedback from teachers and peers to guide own inquiry process.
