Features of the XIS100
With the Xantech XIS100 iPod Docking Station,
integrating an Apple iPod into a distributed
A/V system is a breeze. Since the XIS100 is
compatible with all current iPod models (iPod
Classic, iPod Touch, Nano 4G, iPhone 3G,
etc…) users now have a flexible easy to
control media server solution.
The XIS100 goes far beyond the standard
iPod dock by providing bi-directional RS232
serial control. This means users can not only
control their iPod but can see full metadata
right on their touchscreen controller.
When high quality video is desired, the
component video port is the answer
providing full 480p output for stunning video
reproduction. Using the on-screen menu and
the included IR remote control makes for an
exceptionally enjoyable experience.

Connecting the XIS100
The XIS100 is one of the most advanced
iPod docking stations on the market today
providing the installer with many options
when connecting the unit into an A/V
system.
When using the COMPONENT VIDEO output,
high quality 480p video is transmitted
otherwise the COMPOSITE VIDEO output can
be used. Either NTSC or PAL video can be
selected via a switch on the back of the unit.
Audio is transmitted over the LEFT AND
RIGHT AUDIO port using the included RCA
cable.
The RS-232/RS-422 port can be connected to
any advanced control system for bidirectional communication. Modules for
AMX, Crestron and Vantage are available for
easy integration.

With the XIS100, users now have a powerful
way to distribute and control both audio
and video content from their Apple iPod.
Unlike most iPod docking solutions, the
XIS100 provides full metadata for control
from any location around the installation.
When the XIS100 is used with a Xantech 8x8
A/V distribution system and Xantech
touchscreen controllers, users can not only
send commands to the iPod but see exactly
what is happening in real time on the
touchscreen. With this powerful feature, the
iPod now becomes a central A/V
distribution device and not a single room
solution.

In addition to integrating with other
Xantech components, the XIS100 can be
used with any control system that supports
bi-directional serial data. Control systems
such as AMX, Crestron and Vantage can
easily be integrated with the XIS100 using
the existing control modules.
