Company founders – Jacek L. Madajczyk (1) • Graduated from the Department of Mathematics and from the Department of Physics Warsaw University. • In 1989 he completed the PhD thesis in the Center for Theoretical Physics Polish Academy of Science followed by the post doctoral fellowship at the University of Southern California (Research Associate Los Angeles 1989-1991). • Starting from 1993 he was working for ATM (Polish distributor of Silicon Graphics Inc.) on various positions starting from Supercomputing Division Manager and completing as Strategic Projects Department Director and Plenipotentiary to the Board. He was one of the elite group of early adopters implementing supercomputing technology in Poland. His most remarkable achievement was introducing in 1995 the first supercomputer from Poland ever on the prestige list of world wide largest supercomputing installations TOP500. • Starting from 2006 Jacek L. Madajczyk has been coordinating R&D projects within ATM. He initiated creation of the R&D center (CBR ATM-Lab) and acquired EU co-financing of more than 4 million PLN for 5 projects in total. In 2009 CBR ATM-Lab was successfully (break even point after the first year) transformed into ATM Software to commercialize the results of the above mentioned projects and to gain market share in the area of multimedia software products and services. • In the year 2007 Jacek L. Madajczyk initiated creation of the first Special Economic Zone in Warsaw devoted to ICT innovative technologies. In 2008 he acquired more than 70 million PLN of EU co-financing for the realization of the ATM Innovation Center project in the years 2009-2014. Company founders – Jacek L. Madajczyk (2) ATM Innovation Center (CI ATM) project for years 2009-2014: • total value of the project 321 326 000 PLN (more than 100 Million USD), • total EU co-funding of the project 72 320 578 PLN (about 24 Million USD). • CI ATM activities will include, but not be restricted to providing outsourcing services, technological support as well as support for the commercialization process of most advanced ICT technologies, • activities will be correlated with the expansion of the existing ATMAN Telecommunication Center, the available data center floor space will be increased several times and new office building will be completed to provide space for innovative technology companies, • new data center infrastructure will be built effectively using most advanced technologies a good example being energy saving technologies (so called Green Data Center) . Visualizations of CI ATM according to one of the architectural concepts Genesis • The company's mission is to commercialize Phoenix-RTOS and implement it in a wide range of modern embedded systems, • The Phoenix-RTOS prototype also know as Phoenix was developed between 2000 and 2001 in the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of Warsaw University of Technology as M. Sc. thesis by Pawel Pisarczyk, • The first version of the system run on embedded PCs housing IA32 processors, • Successful development of the Phoenix prototype led to the creation of the IMMOS company, • It was one of the first embedded systems companies in Poland that focused on developing and supplying software for Automatic Dicing Saws used in the microelectronics industry as well as exo-kernel for medical devices such as cardio-monitors, • Development of Phoenix-RTOS started in 2004 followed by the decision taken in 2009 to establish a new company with external investors to commercialize Phoenix-RTOS and implement it in a wide range of embedded devices.
