Distribute/Discuss “Common Second Meanings” & “Additional Words to Know” Handouts

We will look at an example passage/question together (pg. 42, Question 1)

In small groups, answer the question/discuss a rationale for your solution.

Be prepared to briefly discuss.
English 11:

Introduce William Golding’s Novel Lord of the Flies
o
“Anticipation Guide” [Rate all 10 statements and write a 1-2 sentence rationale for 5 of the 10 statements. Debate/Discussion Exercise to follow.
Honors (45 minute class due to SAT Meeting):

HW: “Anticipation Guide” (Rate all 19 statements & write a 1-2 sentence rationale for 10 of the 19 statements for next class.)

HW: Read “About the Author: Aldous Huxley” & Complete “Target Notes” graphic organizer (Record 2-3 bulleted points in each section.)

HW: Read “About the Novel” & add to the graphic organizer…
THURSDAY, 2/4/16 & FRIDAY, 2/5/16 (One Act Play 1984 Assembly Friday @ 10:15 – 4th Block is 55 minutes long)
