About Me:
My name is Harry Bailey and I’m the Host during
the Canterbury Tales. I live in Southwark
England and I run the Tabard Inn. I am definitely
not rich at all, I am sort of lower class, but I
don’t mind at all! I am a loud and merry man
with few concerns in the world. I like to do
anything fun. To me, life is about enjoying
yourself and being good to others. I am against
arguing and I hate when people do it. I try to
resolve any arguing that happens around me.
However, I have a bad temper. If you do
something to set me off it could turn ugly.
Currently I’m going to embark on a journey to
Canterbury. I love life!
Interests:
I really love a good cup of ale from my tavern. I
am interested in just about anything that is
adventurous or different from anything I’ve
seen or done before. I also love the ladies. I’m a
ladies man. I enjoy leading people and being
somewhat of a tour guide to others. I also love a
good sense of humor. Most importantly I
absolutely love when a person tells a good
story!

April 20th, 1608
Today I met with twenty nine individuals whom also want to travel to
Canterbury to see the shrine of St. Thomas A. Becket. I didn’t want to be
bored on the way there so I decided to give every person a challenge.
Whomever tells me the best story on our journey to Canterbury is
entitled to one well deserved feast prepared by the rest of the group
when we arrive back. I am the judge of who will win. I really enjoyed
meeting all of these new people. We all met up at my Tabard Inn before
we embarked on this new journey. Now I wonder who is going to win
this challenge. Each person is so different and could have amazing
stories. I know that each story will vary greatly so it will be very hard to
decide the winner. I had each person draw a straw to see who will tell
the first tale. The Knight is going first and I can tell he is full of good and
exciting stories that will enthuse everyone. I cannot wait for the stories
to begin; I just pray that no arguments arise when I choose the winner.
That would be terrible.
