University Report
Bill Coen
Pacific Athletics
Out of a possible 100% score, Pacific has an overall program score of 87%. Ten
out of the sixteen athletics programs have a score above the national average.
Four athletics programs have a perfect score.
New Scholarship at Benerd School of Education
There is a new scholarship program available to Education students, the James
Patterson Teacher and Education Scholarship. Eight Pacific students earned the
first ever scholarships, each worth $6000 and all are renewable. James Patterson
Page 6 of 38
is an author and it is his hope that recipients understand the importance of
promoting literacy and instilling an enduring lasting love of reading.
Mobile App for University website
The mobile app for the University is up and can be accessed by going to
www.pacific.edu on any mobile phone. We hope to utilize this tool for
Homecoming 2014 and place other alumni events in the “calendar” and/or
“events” listing throughout the year. Becky will follow up on these opportunities.
Brubeck Festival
March 27-29, 2014 Stockton, CA
The 2014 Brubeck Festival will feature jazz artists Al Jarreau, Eddie Palmieri, and
Teri Lyne Carrington.
April 7-13, 2014 New York City, NY
The life of Dave Brubeck will be celebrated in New York City at Lincoln Center.
There will be a collection highlighting Brubeck’s accomplishments on display for
the entire year.
Conservatory Graduation Rate
The Conservatory of Music’s Education program has a 100% placement rate for
their graduates. They have maintained this placement rate for 16 years in a row.
FOOF (Funding Of Our Future)
Over the course of this process, the Pacific Alumni Association (PAA) staff has
had 1 reduction (an Administrative Assistant). There were no changes to the
Alumni Relations Budget.
3:05 p.m.
President’s Report
Jim Stavosky
Homecoming Kudos
Jim thanked the PAA staff for their hard work on homecoming. During
homecoming, Jim spoke at 7-8 events throughout the weekend. Attendees felt
honored to have a Board member there to speak to them. There will be more
opportunities for board members to participate in this type of thing in the future.
Philanthropy Ad-Hoc Committee
Bill is the PAA staff person taking the lead in this effort. Jan is the Committee
Chair. Those interested in joining the committee should contact Jim. Margaret
expressed an interest in joining the committee.
Board Meeting Calendar changes
There are some changes in the flow of when we do our activities to make it a little
easier on PAA staff. The Executive Committee will discuss adjustments in the
calendar and get information out to the full Board in about a month or so.

Senior Vice President’s Report
Franz Vaiarello
Mid-Meeting Communication
Mid-meeting communication went out. By a show of hands, about a dozen Board
members indicated they had received it. PAA staff will work on the technical
difficulties to make sure everyone receives the communication in the future. Any
insights on how the communication can be improved should be sent to Franz.
Board of Regents Meeting
General Info - President Eibeck discussed the Powell Gift and the return on
investment for a college education. She also welcomed 4 new members to the
Board of Regents.
FOOF – The University is going through an academic and non-academic Unit
review. Many recommendations have been brought forward and new key
performance indicators attached to them. The review resulted in the elimination
of Men’s Volleyball and the Rowing Program. There will also be adjustments
made in several programs including Career Resource Center, Office of
Communications, Center for Teaching and Learning, Office of Information
Technology, MOVE Program. The employee benefit tuition remission program is
under review. The three campus review is focusing on some service and
procedures can be both collaborative and centralized.
Bond Rating – The University of the Pacific rating has gone up because of the
Powell Gift, etc.
2012-2015 Priorities
Franz encouraged everyone to review the PAA priorities, particularly the items
that spell out board member participation such as:
 Student Alumni Connections – Only 30% of the board members have
signed up as a mentor.
 Video Gallery of Careers – So far, only 23% of board members have
recorded a video for the Career Resource Center.
 Fulfilling Required Annual Donation to the University – Only 43% of the
board members have given their contribution for this fiscal year.
Discussion: Shanti commented that the annual donation requirement is very low
compared to the Pacific McGeorge Alumni Association Board of Directors
($1500/year). Tim asked if each board member could receive an e-mail indicating
whether these requirements have been fulfilled or still need to be completed.
Franz will contact Board members individually and let them know where they
stand.

Outstanding Family Award - Created in 1984
This award honors young alumni of distinction in any category who have attended
Pacific in the previous 15 years.
The Eberhardt Family
Over the past 60 years and three generations, the Eberhardt family has been a part of the
University of the Pacific. Family members have not only graduated from Pacific, but have
contributed greatly to the Stockton campus and the Eberhardt School of Business, named
for the patriarch of the family. The Eberhardt family includes a current Regent and two
former Regents; and two members of the prestigious 1851 Society. In total, more than 14
family members have either graduated from Pacific or are currently enrolled.
Future Meeting Agenda Items
Someone from Athletics will be invited to a future meeting to discuss combining
the Stagg Awards with the Distinguished Alumni Awards. The Tiger Award will
be also discussed at the next meeting. The committee will also discuss beefing up
existing awards in terms of marketing and overall improvement of the awards
program.
Benefits
Silvina Sousa – Ransford
Wine club
The idea for a Wine Club has been tabled. The separate wine club survey did not
happen. The committee is looking at other opportunities to add 2 wine
memberships with alumni wineries.
Alumni Card
The committee is looking into the possibility of offering alumni the option to
purchase a “hard copy” card for a nominal fee from the Pacific One Card office.
The “hard copy” option would be paid for by the alumna/nus who want a more
durable card than the current “paper” version.
Discussion: Shanti asked if the card has value to alumni who do not live in the
area (i.e. car rental discounts, online University Library). Silvina said it is more
of a “vanity” card in that case and doesn’t include rental discounts or online
Library services.
Accelerion Learning (software to assist with career exploration)
This software product was demonstrated to the committee. Representatives from
the Career Resource Center (CRC) were also present. The CRC representatives
said that half of the services the vendor wanted to provide for a cost are actually
available through the CRC at no cost to alumni, and the other services the CRC
does not have they are already trying to get. The committee will be working with
CRC to help promote this benefit. A relationship with Accelerion Learning will
not be pursued.
Pacific Athletics Discount
Lee Neves is helping to formalize the discount for alumni with Tigers Athletics.
There is a 50% alumni discount provided at the door. In addition, Athletics is
interested in having an “alumni section” at the Men’s Basketball game on 2/15 in
the Spanos Center. Quentin will follow up on this event with Athletics.
Jan said the alumni discount was not honored at the Water Polo match she
attended. Bill added that the discount may just be honored at the Box Office only
for advanced sales. Silvina will get clarification on the policy.
Clubs
Alan Cook
The Club leaders had their meeting via conference call on Oct. 22 and the guest
speaker was Detwarn Buntun from the Office of Admission. Detwarn is
responsible for recruiting alumni to assist at college fairs, call admitted students
and/or other Admissions related events. Training for alumni volunteers is
available via phone, in person or through Skype. Alumni can enroll in the
program via the Admissions website or contacting the Admissions Office.
Several club leaders have gotten involved as Admissions volunteers as a result of
the conference call. The next committee meeting will be held on November 18
and the guest speaker will be Aubrey Ramos from the Career Resource Center.
Governance
Adam Ellison
Following up on an issue brought up last meeting, the committee decided that the
standing agenda item of “good and welfare’ was sufficient to give alumni an
opportunity to address the board. Drafting a separate policy is unnecessary.
Specific language will be incorporated into the PAA Bylaws that will allow any
alumna/nus to vote without being physically present at such meetings. At the next
Board meeting, the committee will present an action item in this regard.
Other bylaw changes on the horizon:
 Broadening language in regards to what defines a “Board Member”
and a “member” of PAA.
 Removing outdated language around processes that no longer exist or
have been modified.
 Reviewing committee leadership terms and making sure they are
consistent with current practices.
 The references to Sturgis will be changed to reflect its new name, the
American Standard Code of Parliamentary procedures.
The purpose, expected outcomes, and venue of the Annual Meeting will be
reviewed at the next committee meeting. Proposed amendments will be presented
to the full Board at the March meeting.
Marketing
Tim O’Neill
Analytics
There has been modest growth in regards to our social media presence, click
through rates for e-mails, etc.
Captured Alumni E-mail Addresses
According to Imodules, we only have 35% of current e-mails for alumni in the
database. Becky will be looking into what that statistic means and how we can
increase the number of updated e-mail addresses we have on file.
On-site Homecoming Surveys
Students from the Pacific Alumni Marketing Association (PAMA) administered
185 surveys during the weekend. Highlights included:
75% of attendees traveled from 100 miles or less to
90% were pleased with the overall event
Main sources of information for attendees: e-mail and word of mouth
Post Homecoming Survey
Reasons for people not attending Homecoming:
38% previous commitment
28% distance
PAA Website Navigation Board Survey
Board members were asked to go online to the PAA website and try to find some
specific things and comment on how easy or challenging it was to find them.
Shanti was unable to access the Board survey because the McGeorge School of
Law’s alumni database is not loaded into Imodules. The PAA staff will be
looking into how to address this issue.
E-mail Marketing
The committee is suggesting What’s Up Pacific be published once a month.
Another suggestion was to get a Pacific student to assist in working on marketing
projects with Becky.
Selection
Matt Olson
The committee will meet next week. Board members are asked to express interest
to a committee member directly if they are interested in serving as a Board
Officer or Board Committee Chair.
The deadline for current Board members to submit names of potential Board
members for consideration is Monday, November 11. Please include the person’s
name, class year and contact information. It is important that current Board
members ensure the persons they are nominating are aware the nominations are
being made. Those previously nominated in years past and are not selected are
kept “in the pool” for selection for three years. Each receives a letter confirming
their continued interest in being considered. A phone interview occurs for those
who are in the pool and have not already been interviewed.
Timeline:
January 2014: The slate will be presented to the Board.
January 31, 2014: The slate is posted for the general PAA membership
Per the Bylaws, there is a 30 day period in which PAA members may
express any objection to the slate.
May 2014: Board elects new Board members

ASUOP Report
Marquis White
Homecoming
This was the first event that involved all of the ASUOP staff including
government representatives, programming board members, etc.
Student Club Budget process
71 student clubs submitted request for funding. $25,000 was distributed (roughly
$380/club).
Student Forum
Students will be able to share their concerns with ASUOP representatives on the
evening of 11/19 in the DeRosa Center Ballroom.
National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Award
An ally to ASUOP, graduate student Devon Guidoux was recognized with the
NASPA Graduate Rising Star Award. ASUOP conference funding paid for seven
other students to also attend NASPA.
Safe Zone Training
ASUOP office staff completed Safe Zone training. It is a training related to
having respect for the LGBTQIA community. The ASUOP Office is now
declared a Safe Zone.
Spring Activities
The programming board is planning the annual Spring Concert and Spring Break
trip. The spring trip will likely be a cruise to Mexico rather than a trip to Las
Vegas as in years past.
Muslim Student Association
Congratulations to the Muslim student Association for raising over $25,000 at the
Syria charity banquet. 270 people attended the event.
Fair Trade legislation
ASUOP passed legislation to support the fair trade initiative at Pacific.
Financial Aid Concerns
A few students have come forward to say Financial Aid still hasn’t been serving
them well. A couple of students have stated they will not be able to return to
Pacific for the Spring Semester because of lack of financial resources.
Discussion: Adam asked where the funds from the Syria banquet would be
distributed. Marquis said he wasn’t sure and assumed funds would go to people
impacted by the violence taking place in Syria.
Board members discussed the ongoing issues related to students having to leave
Pacific because of a lack of financial resources and student complaints about poor
customer service from the Financial Aid office staff. Matt asked if there is a
University report on what is being done about these issues that can be shared with
the Board.
Silvina added that there have been lots of changes in terms of the rules, laws and
policies that govern the amounts and ceilings in which awards for federal and
state monies are distributed. This has also impacted the issues within Financial
Aid at Pacific. Marquis commented that he and Marselus Cayton, ASUOP
President, have met with the Financial Aid Office and found out that there is a
high turnover rate of staff. This also makes it difficult for the service level to be
consistent because employees are coming in mid-cycle and do not have
experience in a full school year cycle of the financial application/distribution
process. Consequently, they will tend to give out information on loans and little
or no information about available scholarships. The information provided to
students varies from year to year, counselor to counselor. Franz expressed
concern as to the difficulties students face in getting information about
scholarships from Financial Aid. Pam asked if Financial Aid Officers have been
offered additional training to assist students in finding additional internal or
external scholarship opportunities.
Bill will look into these concerns and report back to the Board at the March
meeting. He will also request the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management
provide any additional information available in this regard.

Staff Reports
Engagement Program
Jacob McDougal
Discovery Project
The project is going well. Five students have been hired and are going through a
training process. Their goal as a group during the Fall is 30 visits per month.
Alumni Engagement visits
Craig, Bill and Jacob are going out individually to meet with alumni one to one in
the same way students are conducting interviews.
Philanthropy Ad-Hoc Committee
Venilde and Jennifer provided feedback to Jacob in terms of their experiences at
other institutions related to reaching out to alumni prospects. They also discussed
what role could Board members and/or other alumni volunteers play in the
Discovery Project. Venilde and Jennifer will be meeting individually with alumni
prospects in their respective geographic regions.
Alumni Engagement Tour
These are the confirmed events:
2/27Men’s Basketball Pacific v. Gonzaga (Spanos Center)
This is a large collaboration between PAA, Athletics and the President’s Office.
The pre-game reception will be a catered event held in the Janssen-Lagorio gym.
The program will include remarks from President Eibeck, music from the Pep
Band and other elements to make it a full fan experience. Board members are
encouraged to get as many of their alumni friends to attend the event as possible.
3/21-22 San Francisco Giants Spring Training – Scottsdale, AZ
We will host a Friday night reception at the Marriott hotel in old town Scottsdale.
Alumni will attend the baseball game later that same evening. We are hoping to
get 200 people to attend. Development Officers are being incentivized to bring
alumni and help us make this a national alumni event. We have reserved a block
of rooms at the Marriott in old town Scottsdale. A save the date postcard
advertising this event and the Gonzaga event will be mailed out to all alumni,
approximately 65,000.
6/23
Reception with Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy
This event is in collaboration with the McGeorge School of Law and will be held
in Washington, D.C.
Homecoming 2-question survey
This survey was distributed to Board members and should be returned to Jacob upon
completion. It is a tool to measure engagement and is different than the surveys
conducted by the PAMA students and the overall post-event survey. Board members
were asked to list their name and contact information on the survey only if they wanted
Jacob to follow up with them in regards to their responses.
Discussion: Jennifer asked how many alumni live in the greater Scottsdale, Arizona area.
Jacob estimated 850 alumni living in the greater Scottsdale/Phoenix area.

Homecoming Thanks
Kelli thanked the PAA staff for doing a great job during the weekend. She gave
special acknowledgement to the work of Quentin, Becky and Debbie Perusse.
Men’s Basketball Season Tickets via PAA
We have purchases four season tickets for Men’s Basketball. Please contact Kelli
directly to take advantage of this opportunity to cheer on the Tigers at any
upcoming home game.
Board Member RSVP communication with PAA
In light of the PAA office not having a second Administrative Assistant, Kelli will
be sending out communications to the Board. However, please direct your
RSVPs to Debbie Perusse. Even if you have shared your RSVP with a PAA staff
member in casual conversation or e-mail, it is important to RSVP officially with
Debbie Perusse.
Discussion: Shanti asked that Board members not use the “reply to all” function
and just contact Debbie directly to RSVP for meetings, etc.

All-Alumni Association Meeting
Craig shared that he is working on putting together a meeting of the PAA Board
and all the professional school Alumni Association Board members. He will meet
with the Alumni Relations Executive Directors and the Alumni Association Board
Presidents first. Talks have already begun to get the Dugoni School of Dentistry
and McGeorge School of Law involved in Homecoming 2014.
PAA Board Group Photo
Anne asked if a group photo can be taken at the next Board meeting. The group
photo on the PAA website is not current.
Dugoni School of Dentistry Grand Opening March 7, 2014
Mary asked if there is any PAA Board involvement in this event. Craig said a
university wide e-mail has been distributed. The event is on a Friday, 6-8 p.m.
McGeorge School of Law 90th Anniversary
The McGeorge 90th Anniversary is on March 15.
Alumni Associations’ Master Calendar
Amber asked if there is a Master Calendar of events for all the Alumni
Associations. Jim said it is in progress. Bill said the events are vetted and they
can make adjustments to avoid having events on the same day.
Discussion: Jim asked if Craig could provide a report at each Board meeting in
regard to what is going on with the other Alumni Associations. Craig will prepare
that information to be included in the University report that Bill gives for each
Board meeting.
Kelli asked Anne to send an e-mail about the group photo. It should be addressed
directly to Kelli and Becky.

Faculty Mentor Awards
An update to the revised schedule for the Faculty Mentor Awards program was discussed. The
program will shift, due to the change in PAW to Homecoming, and the new schedule will be as
follows:
June – New Committee Members Selected
August – New Committee Votes on Recipients
November – Board Membership Vote
February – Faculty Mentor Award Brunch
The group asked that a mini survey be sent out at Homecoming to receive an additional slate of
nominations, as well as openly promote the program to our constituents. An additional idea was
to hold a video booth at Homecoming where alumni could give their 15 second thanks to our
selected nominees. This video would be edited and presented at the Faculty Mentor Award
Brunch.
Another idea presented was to ask each of the graduating seniors to nominate a faculty mentor
upon picking up their graduation tickets for Commencement.
Dick McClure mentioned Dr. B. Jan Timmons who passed away a couple of weeks prior to the
event; the idea that we begin to nominate posthumously. Open for discussion at next meeting.
Stagg Awards Joining the Pacific Alumni Association
Dick McClure was worried that by bringing the Stagg Awards to the PAA it may dilute the
“distinguished” aspect of our awards program. Dick also stated that he believe the award belongs
in athletics and not the PAA. The group agreed that we needed to invite athletics to our next
Awards Committee meeting to discuss the idea further.
Tiger Award / Faith Davies Leadership Awards Committee
Page 20 of 38
The committee discussed the need for the staff to engage the Division of Student Life in
assessing the relevancy and efficiency of the Tiger Award.
Distinguished Alumni Awards Overview
The Awards Committee reviewed the program change from November to May. The group asked
for consideration of the Powell family for a Distinguished Alumni Award.

Benefits updates
o PAA Wine Club:
Silvina
 The Wine Club will be postponed indefinitely due to high upfront costs
and bad timing
 While the PAA wine club will not move forward the PAA wine program
can move forward with new ideas for engaging Pacific alumni with Pacific
alumni vintners
 A suggestion for the future is to use alumni clubs as focus groups to test
potential PAA wine club programs
o Alumni Card
Silvina
 A deluxe (plastic, $5) alumni card with photo will be offered to alumni as
well as the standard (paper, free) alumni card as options
o Athletics Box Office discount
Lee

to be only available through the box office, is now available the day of
games at the gate as well
o Committee homework report
All
 The committee will continue to brainstorm local businesses that might be
interested in participating in an alumni discount program
Potential new benefit
Ryan Jackson – Acceleron
1. Acceleron Learning – Acceleron Learning offers an e-learning
product that allows graduates to take ownership of career
exploration and planning, of their student loans/personal finances,
and of managing their career launch using online video lectures
and planning tools. (www.acceleronlearning.com)
Discussion

 The committee recommends not pursuing a partnership with Acceleron
Learning


The committee discussed the options, and decided that the benefit to the
alumni is not great enough, and that Pacific’s Career Resource Center
(CRC) is better suited to offer such services. The committee encourages
the CRC to acquire these additional services for alumni and students to
use.
Review of the other two potential new benefits will be postponed until they
have completed the standards for service checklist outlining University of the
Pacific partnership guidelines
Pacific alumni will be offered a discounted ticket price of $5 to the Pacific
men’s basketball game vs. University of San Diego on February 15, 2014

Homecoming Survey
 Use positive results from survey data for future marketing
Website Review
Suggestions:
 Look into having both McGeorge and Dugoni constituents loaded into our PAA Website.
 “Temporary” things are hard to find on the website, ex. events
 Needs to more “wow,” less static
 The Tool Kit link does not work on the clubs page and we need a clubs page update
 Move social media icons to the top
 Benefits should have its own tab
 Change giving link to say “Give to Pacific”
 Create an auto dropdown on each tab of the navigation bar.
Mobile Messaging
 This idea looks like a lot to manage, so Tim suggests we either find an affordable service
or table the idea
 Use Twitter more in lieu of mobile messaging.
Social Media
 Committee suggested we recruit a student volunteer to manage our social media.

Committee suggested we promote our social media and e-newsletters in the Pacific
Review
Other Concerns
According to iModules we have 35% of alumni email addresses. Staff needs to research with
iModules to determine what this number includes and how we measure up to peer institutions.

provided by Pacific alumni that is searchable by geographic region and specialty to allow
alumni searching for service providers to locate a Pacific alumnus/na.
 The Alumni Association Board of Directors will examine various models of board

alumni leaders, and support University-wide initiatives.
Proposed Objectives:
 The Alumni Association Board of Directors will undertake a regular review of the
website.

force consisting of key staff and alumni leadership, facilitated by experts (alumni/nonalumni professionals); the task force will provide the Association with recommendations
for a comprehensive technology and social media plan with a proposed budget. The plan
would establish additional objectives for 2013-2015.

Homecoming 2014
Planning has begun with a small core group from the University. We will be
inviting board representation starting in February/March.
Selection Committee
The Committee has met several times since our last board meeting and has
completed its task of slating next year's new officers and directors. The slate
was posted to the alumni website on Friday, January 31. We will vote on it at the
PAA Board's Annual Meeting, Saturday, May 31. I would like to thank Chairman
Matt Olson and his Selection committee for their work ethic and stellar input into
a fine slate.

Three Campus Alumni Association Meeting
On January 18, representatives from all three Pacific campus alumni
associations met. This included the Pacific Alumni Association in Stockton, the
Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Speech Language Pathology Associations in
Stockton, Dugoni Alumni Association in SF and McGeorge Alumni Association in
Sacramento. Both staff and volunteers of all six (yes 6) alumni associations
participated. The main focus was to discuss a joint meeting between the alumni
of all three campuses, work toward a joint events calendar and possible event
collaboration. You will hear more at future board meetings as the plans for this
joint meeting become available.
Regents meeting
PAA President Jim Stavosky and his attaché Franz Vaiarello attended the
Regents meeting in Sacramento. It is a wonderful time to see UOP President
Eibeck, members of her Cabinet present to the Regents. It is serious
commentary and discussion. There were action items relieving the University of
certain obligations, adding focused programs, reports on all aspects of their KPIs
and presentations on the evolving Stockton, San Francisco and Sacramento
campuses. Very cool! More later with the official Regents report that Jim will give
on my behalf as I will miss the next Board meeting.
President Eibeck and VP Burnie Atterbury
Jim and I had a great meeting with both President Eibeck and VP Burnie
Atterbury. Both are deighted with our efforts as a Board. Jim and I walked away
knowing that we have their support.
Aftrica Trip - Executive Director Kelli Page
Kelli spent the first two weeks of December on safari in Botswana and
Zambia. She had a fabulous time and said it was the best trip ever! You name
it, she saw it...hippos, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras,
warthogs (“they are really cute in their own way”), water buffalo, wild dogs and
hyenas, etc. etc. She noted she did not see any TIGERS as they reside in other
regions within the small continent of Africa. Kelli is planning to take a group back
in 2015! If interested or know someone who may be...give her a call!

b. Priorities review
i. A thorough understanding of who has contributed and who hasn’t is
available. This includes all pledges exceeding $100 / year. 62% of the
Board has made their commitment. Please remember that it is minimum
$100 during the period of July1, 2013 until June 30, 2014. It must be
banked by then. I will be reaching out to those that have yet to meet their
pledge. Goal is to report 100% participation at the next Regents meeting
on April 24, 2014.
D. VP and committee status
a. Philanthropy Ad Hoc
i. Hoc Committee is in a holding position. Had conference call on
December 4 with most participants reviewing the general scope of
the committee. In which it is the purpose of the committee to make
a recommendation to the Board in regards to the role, if any, the
Pacific Alumni Association should have in regards to the upcoming
fundraising campaign. And if so, recommend in which way. An all
day meeting at the Alumni House is set for February 8. It is the
hope of the committee that they are able to come to a conclusion
and thus be able to make a report to the Board at our March 1
meeting but it may take until the May 31 meeting to report back.
b. Marketing
i. Becky to check with iModules to determine if our 35% rate of
confirmed alumni emails is of all alumni living or dead or of alumni
that are likely alive and reachable via email. Kelli will check into
getting McGeorge database synched up with PAA so that
McGeorge alums can log in to our site. Committee requested, in
general session, for staff to look into securing a student volunteer to
assist with social media content and management. The
committee’s provided direction to Becky is to develop a consistent
twice a month appearance of What’s Up, Pacific?
c. Awards
i. Committee’s work for the year is mostly done. Jacob and staff
may be addressing
what other awards may come under our umbrella - the Tiger Award
being one. Then we need to do whatever our responsibilities are to
prepare for the awards ceremony in May.
d. Benefits
i. Committee is exploring local, and possible national, benefits for
members. Committee members were charged with identifying
Page 36 of 38
potential opportunities. Committee is discussing opportunities to
increase awareness of existing benefits.
e. Governance
i. Committee had a conference call on January 29 to review the
additional bylaw changes before our next meeting.
f. Clubs
i. Held a Fall and a Winter Conference Call. The Fall
speaker was Aubrey Ramos, Career Counselor. She spoke
about ways alumni can use Tiger Jobs to sign up as mentors, post
jobs/internship opportunities, etc. She invited the club leadership to
be taped for the Video Gallery of Careers. Very informative
presentation. A lot of conversation between Aubrey and the club
leadership individuals. Our Winter call was on the 13th of January.
There was no formal speaker but a lot of brainstorming facilitated
by Mary Ann Gomez the chair. The topic was engaging the Class
of 2014.
That is all…. Franz
