• The Lead Personal Tutor (Year Tutor) for
academic Stage 3 is the Programme Leader
• Your personal tutor is your project supervisor

Stage 3
• For most students this is the final year and counts significantly
towards your degree classifications
• 25% stage 2 GPA + 75% stage 3 GPA
• academic regulations for taught awards are available online
• The individual project is 60 credits
• half of your final year
• Most programmes have 30 credits of core courses
• two 15 credit courses, one in each term
• Most programmes have 30 credits of optional courses
• two 15 credit courses, one in each term

Individual Project
• Says more about you than anything else you do at university
• not only in terms of marks
• Conforms to BCS requirements
• Encourages student-led learning
• the project is selected or originated by you according to your own
interests and appropriate to your programme of study
• Any subject or material appropriate to your programme of
study which you feel that you have not had an opportunity to
cover in your taught courses can and should be incorporated
into your project
• where appropriate access to teaching material can be arranged

Individual Project
• Through term 1 you have a 2 hour weekly session
with 2 tutors
• These tutors will become your supervisor and your
second marker
• you will be required to pitch your project notion Dragon's
Den style
• one of the two Dragon's will become your supervisor
• Through term 2 you are on your own
• expected to arrange regular meetings with your supervisor
