Comment on Results
Our students do not drop out of school. They leave St. John Bosco Private School to continue their studies in traditional Catholic schools
outside of the province. These schools are affiliated with the Charitable Society of St. Pius X. The students often have siblings who tell us
where they are attending school.
Strategies
We will inform our students of other Catholic education opportunities within Calgary.
Keep records in our office and officially track students that leave.
Outcome:
Students demonstrate proficiency in literacy and numeracy.

Capital and Facilities Projects
 The schoolyard permanent outdoor play centre was constructed.
 Classroom walls were removed.
Playground costs were funded by a private donation.
Summary of Facility and Capital Plans
St. John Bosco Private School recognizes that physical activity is vital to all aspects of healthy growth and development. To this end we
remain committed to providing students with opportunities to enhance their physical fitness and fair play skills. We rent out gym space in the
local community to give the students a more advanced program of physical education through the winter months. With the same mind we
plan to rectify our indoor play needs by building a permanent structure on our land for both physical education, recesses, and major
assembles in the future.
Parental Involvement
Survey results for St. John Bosco Private School indicate the percentage of teachers and parents satisfied with parental involvement in
decisions about their child's education is good.
We begin the year with an open house so the parents can meet and visit with the parents. We have purchased agendas for all the students
so we could have a direct line of communication about homework with the parents and any incidents throughout the day. Parents feel free
to write notes to the teachers as well. Every month the teachers compile a newsletter, which goes home highlighting special learning
opportunities and upcoming events. On numerous occasions we ask for volunteers for field trips and other activities in the school. St. John
Bosco Private School encourages parents to come talk with the teachers, priests, and administration whenever they have concerns. Finally,
we have the Parent Advisory Board, which meets every two months.
Timelines and Communication
This Combined 3 Year Educational Plan and Annual Education Results Report for St. John Bosco Private School is available in
hard copy at the school office. Printed copies will be made available at the request of a parent.
A copy of this report is also available through the school website at www.school.stdennis.ca.
The Alberta Education zone director has been notified of this posting via email.
