Detailed introduction on Khoam Bang multi-metal mine area - Khoam Bang Mountain is a part of the 700-1000m-wide and 7000m-long strip of ultramafic-magma rocks containing multimetal ores (Cu, Ni, Co, Au, etc.). This strip is arc-shaped and surrounds the 518m- mountain peak. - Khoam Bang Mountain can be considered as a multi-metal laterite mine with the main metals: Cu, Ni, and Fe. In addition, Cr, W, Au, and Co are also the accompanying elements. The amount of ore is high and the mining conditions are convenient because the mine is completely open-cast. - Khoam Bang mine covers an area of 25ha, of which 5.3 ha is the top of the mountain - Khoam Bang mine comprises 2 types of ore: + Type 1: ore in the bedrocks below the weathered zone + Type 2: ore in the weathered zone - Khoam Bang mine is bordered by altered diorite masses Khoam Bang mountain- a multimetal opencast mine 2. Implemented works in Khoam Bang multi-metal mine The explored area and implemented works in the Khoam Bang multi-metal mine 3. Element concentrations in the weathered zone - In Khoam Bang mine, 27 digging holes (the shallowest is 8m and the deepest is 15m deep) were carried out. - Number of boreholes: 8 (the shallowest is 54m and the deepest is 132m deep) - Number of lines for soil sampling: 8 Analytical results of Ni-Fe laterite ore Concentration (%) Zone Ni Fe Yellowish red limonite 0,21,0 Brown and dark gray limonite Saprolite Mg Si Cr 5152 4,85,4 1,11,2 0,81,2 6062 1,71,9 0,81,5 25 2026 1620 0,30,5 1214 Reserves of Ni and Fe in the weathered zone Amount of Averaged ore (with Area (m2) thickness density of (m) 2.2 tons/m3) The lower part without the outcrop of 197,000 bedrocks (19.7 ha) The higher part with the outcrop 53,000 of bedrocks (5.3ha) Average concentration Amount of metal Ni Fe Ni (tons) Fe(tons) 39,006 3,867,262 10 4,334,000 0.90% 58% 1.5 174,900 0.90% 52% Total 1,574.1 40,580.10 4,007,182 The value of ore in the weathered zone Fe 139,920 Ni Price ($/ton) 70 20,000 Total value ($) 280,502,708 811,602,000 Analytical results of soil samples at 9 m depth in the red soil layer in hole No. 1 Analytical results of soil samples at 5 m depth in the blackish blue soil layer in hole No. 3 Analytical results of soil samples at 6 m depth in the black soil layer in hole No. 4 Analytical results of samples at 9 m depth in the saprolite zone in hole No. 4 Analytical results of soil samples at 4 m depth in the blackish brown soil layer in hole No. 5 Analytical results of samples at 4 m depth in the saprolite zone in hole No. 5 Analytical results of soil samples at 8 m depth in the blackish brown soil layer in hole No. 6 Analytical results of soil samples at 3 m depth in the yellow soil layer in hole No. 6 Analytical results of samples at 1 m depth in the saprolite zone in hole No. 8 Analytical results of samples at 1 m depth in the saprolite zone in hole No. 9 Hole Ni-05 with depth of 13m 4.Element concentrations in the type 1’s ore (bedrocks below the weathered zone) Al2O3 CaO Fe2O3 K2O % MgO MnO P2O5 TiO2 Ag As B Ba Ce Co Cr Cu La ppm Li Borehole KBD1 Borehole KBD6 18m 45m 55m 71m 41m 51m 56m 57m 1.3 0.48 1.1 0.38 0.56 1.2 0.47 0.76 0.21 0.25 0.42 0.35 0.33 0.45 0.45 0.53 12.3 11.31 13.1 14.5 15.1 17.3 15.5 16.4 0.1 0.06 0.11 0.09 0.16 0.13 0.15 0.2 10.02 17.48 18.2 18.48 16.66 17.44 17.33 15.11 0.78 0.26 0.58 0.56 0.55 0.73 0.44 0.87 0.26 0.01 0.41 0.03 0.01 0.51 0.3 0.24 0.48 0.06 0.28 0.16 0.09 0.58 0.18 0.19 <2 <2 <2 <2 <2 <2 <2 <2 11 20.6 22 26 19 26 33 41 47.8 21.6 33 53.1 23 26 33.1 53 96.7 88.3 89 79 68 69 69 98 22 41.4 34 75 111 78 82 99 727.3 153.2 356 341 213 225 331 67 5437 2314 987 1131 989 1121 578 599 121 132 221 155 178 191 167 159 55 77 23 67 87 79 89 112 12 66 68 75 59 76 54 89 Ni 11,032 Pb Sb Sn Sr V W Y 22 122 231 9.7 54 667 10 9,622 8,713 8,005 8,759 9,811 10,008 9,861 54 132 432 13.1 43.7 811 9 34 127 446 11.7 56 774 11 35 189 357 18.1 71 768 7 56 167 341 34.5 55.1 511 11 51 159 571 23.1 58 613 13 56 150 451 28.1 91 899 19 97 221 339 54.5 112 671 16 Estimated reserves of Ni in the type 1’s ore (ultramafic magma bedrocks) in Khoam Bang multi-metal mine ( with the density of 2.4 tons/m3) Area (m2) 250,000 Average thickness (m) 70 Density Amount of ore (tons) Average concentration of Ni 2.4 42,000,000 0.80% Amount of Ni (tons) 336,000 - Estimated value of Ni ore with the price of 18.000USD/tons: 6.048.000.000USD
