Cold War Project Due Dates: A-Day Feb 24th and B-Day Feb 25th — HARDCOPIES due in class Pick ONE of the following products to create… Option 1) Movie Script and Poster Create a script for a scene in a movie using one of the Cold War vocabulary lists. Your movie can be about anything you want, as long as it is school appropriate. You must use ALL 15 terms CORRECTLY in the context of your script; each vocab term must be in its own sentence. Requirements: ✓ Title Page — includes title, author (you!), date, and class period ✓ Movie Script — script must be between 5-7 pages, formatted correctly, page numbers, 1” margins, and Times New Roman 12 point font ✓ Highlight or Underline EACH vocabulary word ✓ Movie Poster — original illustration of your script ✓ paper size 9x11, 11x13, or 13x15 only, stapled to back of script, unless approved by teacher prior to submission ✓ Printed in color – or – hand drawn in colored pencil, marker, or black pen (no pencil!) Library and English computer labs have Celtic Screenwriting software installed if you are interested in using it to create your movie script. A sample template and formatting guide can also be found on your teacher’s website. Option 2) Comic Book Strip Design a comic book strip using one of the Cold War vocabulary lists. You must use ALL 15 terms CORRECTLY in the context of your comic strip; each vocab term must be in its own sentence. Requirements: ✓ Illustrations of the terms displayed in a narrative/story-line context ✓ Printed in color – or – hand drawn in colored pencil, marker, or black pen (no pencil!) ✓ Paper size 9x11, 11x13, or 13x15 only, unless approved by teacher prior to submission ✓ Captions for each illustration ✓ Captions must include terms from the vocabulary list of your choice AND relevant, substantial information that provides the reader with an understanding of what happened ✓ Highlight or Underline EACH vocabulary word ✓ Comic book strips must include a title page with a title, your name, date, and class period. Projects not submitted by Feb 19th will NOT be accepted. ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS OF FINAL PRODUCT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Turnitin.com Requirements ✦ Only submit TEXT of assignment — copy and paste words into a document or directly into turnitin.com ✦ Text must be less than 15% similarity rate ✦ one point will be deducted for every percentage point above 15 ✦ Failure to submit text into turnitin.com will result in an automatic deduction of 30 points from your final project grade. A late submission of text (<48 hours) will result in a deduction of 15 points from your final project grade. Percentage rates over 15% will still have points deducted in addition to the 15 points for a late submission. Technology issues do not negate these penalties – find a way to submit it on time!
