Persuasive Speech
Learning Objectives:
Students will Demonstrate their ability to conduct and synthesize research from reliable and unbiased sources
on an important issue/debate in our culture.
Students will Engage the class in their topic by organizing a developed outline with a well-crafted
Introduction, Body and Conclusion.
Students will Demonstrate their proficiency in delivering effective speeches that utilize strong vocal and
physical choices by presenting to the class a well-prepared and well-organized Persuasive Speech.
Assignments:
1. Students will Conduct additional research that will enable them to argue for one side of the
issue/debate. Research must be based on scientific/factual evidence.

2. Students will create Persuasive Outline.
Outline: 50 Points
3. Students will Present a Persuasive Speech that convinces the class to think/feel/act a particular way
about a cultural/societal issue or debate. The speech must be positive, fair and logical.
