TruClose safety gate hinges are injection-molded from super-strong engineering
polymers and stainless steel construction that provides many years of reliable and rust
free performance. They are UV stabilized so there is no color fade and can be used in all
weather conditions.
Gates of different sizes and weights incur different loads, so the ability to adjust tension
safely and easily is critical, especially in child safety areas. The unique, patented spring
loaded adjustor allows for quick, incremental tension adjustment using only a screwdriver

Regular range is for smaller gates and the Heavy Duty range is for larger, heavier gates

TruClose Heavy Duty models are designed for large, heavy gates as well as
high traffic gates. They are ideal for both residential and commercial
applications. All Heavy Duty hinges will self-close gates up to 132 lb
(60kg).
The Standard models do not have any side fixing legs although they do
come with an alignment ridge to help align the hinges against corner of post.
Standard models are designed for both new gates and for retrofitting existing
gates as they will fit gate gaps ranging from 1/4"- 1" (6-25mm). They carry
a point load capacity of 700 lb (318kg).
No fasteners included. Use 12 gauge for Heavy Duty models.
NOTE: All Heavy Duty self-closing and point load ratings are based upon
one pair of hinges on a gate size of 6’H x 4’W (1,830H x 1,220mmW).

Double alignment leg models (L2) provide quick alignment and double face
fixing to both the gate and post reducing installation time and increased
fixing strength. They are designed for new construction where a fixed gate
gap of 3/4” (19mm) is allowed. L2 models carry a 1,000 lb (453kg) point
load capacity.
Single alignment leg models (L1) provide the same benefits of the L2
models but with only one side fixing leg. This provides double face fixing
on either the gate or post and gives the flexibility of gap variance found on
the Standard models, 1/4"- 1" (6-25mm). L1 models carry a point load
capacity of 700 lb (318kg).
TCHD2-L1S model has one alignment leg and has slotted fixing holes on
one side to provide horizontal adjustment during and after installation.

Each pair is packed as a kit that includes shims / adapters to fit a variety of
gate and post diameters.
TCHDRND1-MK2 is designed to fit gate diameters of 1-3/8” and 1-5/8” (35
and 41mm) and fence post diameters of 1-7/8” - 2”, 2-3/8” and 2-7/8” (4850, 60 and 73mm).

traffic vinyl and wood gates. They offer a wide range of adjustability to
make installation easy. Multi-Adjust hinges have adjustable spring tension
for ensuring reliable gate closure. They can be adjusted up to 3/4” (19mm)
both vertically and horizontally. Three-way adjustability is also ideal for
adjusting gates that have gone out of alignment after installation.
They include double alignment legs for quick installation and double face
fixing to both the gate and post to increase fixing strength. They have a gap

Mini-Multi Round Post hinges are designed to fit to a wide range of
common round-posted gates and fence posts. They have a self-closing rating
of 55 lb (25kg) and a point load capacity of 375 lb (170kg).
Mini-Multi Round Post hinges have a gap variance of 3/4” – 2” (19-50mm).
With 3/4" (19mm) of vertical adjustment and up to 1-1/8" (29mm) of
horizontal adjustment, they make installation quick and easy. There are two
models available for different gate and fence post combinations.
TCAMA2RND fits fence posts from 1-7/8" - 2" , 2-3/8" and 2-7/8" (48-50,

Mini-Multi Adjust hinges are designed to fit to a wide range of common
square-posted gates and fence posts. They have a self-closing rating of 55 lb
(25kg) and a point load capacity of 375 lb (170kg).
With 3/4" (19mm) of vertical adjustment and up to 1-1/8" (29mm) of
horizontal adjustment, they make installation quick and easy. There are two
models available for different gate gap requirements.
TCAMA1 features a gap variance of 7/8" – 1-1/2” (22-36mm).
TCAMA2 features a gap variance of 7/8” – 2” (22-50mm).
Each pair is packed as a kit that includes mounting brackets.

Examine gate frames and fence posts, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements
for gate hardware installation tolerances, assembly construction, and other conditions affecting
performance.
B.
Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.

Prepare gate frames and fence posts in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions.
Any existing gate hardware must be removed before installation. Apply the proper corrosion
protection and finish to any exposed screw hole or area left over from the removal of existing
hardware before installation of D&D Technologies' hardware.
INSTALLATION
A.
Install each hardware items to comply with manufacturer’s installation instructions, building
code requirements, and requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
B.
Install hardware types and quantities indicated on submitted hardware schedule.
C.
Do not install surface-mounted hardware until substrate finishes have been completed.
D.
Set all gates, fence posts and gate hardware level, plumb and true to line and location. Adjust
and reinforce attachments where necessary for proper installation and operation.
E.
