Course Deliverable's and Exams
Your course grade will be a composite of both your performance on SAM Assignments,
Textbook Tutorials, quizzes and exams.
The book Tutorials will measure your proficiency in using different Microsoft Office 2010
applications. For each chapter of the textbook, you will be creating one or more documents.
You will be required to turn in these document(s). This will ensure that you are going over
the book material, before attempting to work on the SAM Assignments. You will be graded
on these textbook Tutorials based on their completeness.
For the homework Assignments, you will be using SAM to view the Assignment instructions
online, download the starter file, and then work on it saved on your computer using the live
application. Once you complete the Assignments, you can upload it to SAM for grading. The
advantage with SAM is that you can view your results immediately! You can also make
changes to the assignment if you are not happy with your score on that particular assignment.
Due Dates for SAM Assignments are listed in the Tentative Course Schedule at the end of
this syllabus. Assignments are due at 11:00 pm on the date specified on the schedule. No
assignments will be accepted after the Cut Off Date in Blackboard without the approval of
the Instructor.
There will be four exams. The first exam will test your skills using Microsoft Word, the
second exam will test your skills using Microsoft Excel, and the third exam will test your
skill using Microsoft PowerPoint. The Final Exam is comprehensive. All exams will be
administered using SAM. There will be no “makeup” assignments, quizzes, or exams
without the consent of the Instructor and a reasonable excuse.
Late Assignments:
You are required to read the material listed in the syllabus. All assignments will be due on or
before the due date listed in your syllabus and in BlackBoard for which they are assigned.
Assignments are usually due Friday Night 11:00 pm of the week they are assigned,
unless otherwise instructed by the Instructor. Quizzes are due Sunday Night of the
week they are assigned. There will be no “makeup” quizzes or exams without the
consent of your Instructor.
In general, late assignments will not be accepted. However, if you have a legitimate excuse
and you inform your Instructor in advance, exceptions may be granted. Forgetting to
complete an assignment or not having access to the required resources is not a legitimate
excuse. Points can be deducted for approved late assignments.
Disability Statement:
The University will make reasonable accommodations for qualified students (Americans with
Disabilities Act and Section 504, Rehabilitation Act) with disabilities. If you have a
diagnosed disability for which you will require accommodations, please discuss it with your
professor during the first week of class or present your written accommodation request on or

examinations, reports, and projects must be that student's own work. According to the

includes, but is not limited to:
1. Dishonesty of any kind on examinations, quizzes, written assignments, and projects
2. Unauthorized possession of examinations, quizzes, or instructor records
3. Use of unauthorized notes or information during an examination or quiz exercise
4. The obtaining of information during an examination or assignment from another
individual and/or assisting another to cheat
5. Alteration of grades on an examination or assignment or in instructor or university
records
6. Illegal entry or unauthorized presence in an office of the University or residence of an
instructor or unauthorized access to grade records or examination and assignment
requirements
7. Submitting someone else’s work as your own
The penalty for violating the honor code is severe. According to the ENMU catalog (ENMU
Undergraduate catalog 2011 - 2013, p. 28), misrepresentation of knowledge can influence a
course requirement. Cheating, plagiarism, or other acts of academic dishonesty compromise
the integrity of the academic progress and community are subject to disciplinary action. An
act of academic dishonesty, at the will of the University, may result both in grade changes
and/or disciplinary actions. If a student is unclear about whether a particular situation may
constitute a violation, the student should meet with the instructor to discuss the situation.
