Child Development Center’s Preschool News October 20th-October 24th A Peek at the Unit This week we will continue reading The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. We will also be participating in activities relating to the book each day. You can help your child at home by asking him/her questions about the activities they bring home from school. These are the skills we will be working on: Positional Concepts Identifying characters and objects Sequencing story/nursery rhyme Retelling the story Answering “wh” questions Music and Rhyme Our nursery rhyme for this month is “The Eensy Weensy Spider.” Please practice saying and singing this rhyme at home with your child. The Eensy Weeny Spider went up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the Spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain. And the Eensy Weensy Spider went up the spout again. Our song this week is: “Did You Ever See a Pumpkin?” (Sung to the tune of: “Did You Ever See a Lassie?”) Did you ever see a pumpkin, a pumpkin, a pumpkin? Did you ever see a pumpkin with no face at all? With no eyes, and no nose, and no mouth, and no teeth? Did you ever see a pumpkin with no face at all? So I made a Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lantern. So I made a Jack-O-Lantern with a big funny face. With big eyes, and a big nose, and a big mouth, and big teeth. So I made a Jack-O-Lantern with a big funny face. Helping Hands Thank you to everyone who has sent in classroom supplies! We appreciate all of your support for our classroom!!!!!!
