Encourage Good Study Habits for your Student! 1. To be successful students should study 1-2 hours each night. Even if a “homework” isn’t given, spend about 20 minutes every night reviewing. 2. Provide a distraction-free and well-lit place for your student to study. Do NOT allow them to study in front of the TV or with their phone. 3. Help your student prioritize their work. It’s usually best to study for tests first. After that, tackle the hardest homework. 4. Help your student to get organized - use an agenda and colored binders. 5. Help them create note cards to review class notes. 6. To do well on tests –review all along, be prepared, and arrive on time. 7. Remember the importance of rest, relaxation, exercise, and a proper diet. A nutritious breakfast will help your student stay focus.
