Geometry Homework Chapter 3
#31 Mon 10/6
HW: pg 144: 12-34 even, 41-44 all and pg 147: 54-59
In class: go over Chap 2 test. We will likely only have 4 more tests this semester….Make each one count!! Sec 3-1:
Parallel and skew lines, special angles created when a transversal intersects two other lines: interior, exterior, alternate
interior, alternate exterior, consecutive interior, and corresponding angles.
#32 Tues 10/7
HW: pg 147: 60-62 and pg 152: 7-22 all
In class: Sec 3-2 which special angles are congruent and which are supplementary when the lines intersected by a
transversal are parallel.
#33 Wed 10/8
HW: pg 176: 8-17 all and pg 163: 51-62 all
In class: Sec 3-5 proving lines parallel using congruent or supplementary special angles.
#34 Thurs 10/9
HW: worksheet for lesson 3-5
In Class: examples of proofs that proves lines are parallel
#35 Fri 10/10
HW: pg 161: 24-36 even and pg 164: 1-6 all
In Class: Sec 3-3 finding the slope of a line, knowing the slope of a vertical line is undefined and the slope of a horizontal
line is zero. Using the slope and a point of a line to graph a line.
#36 Mon 10/13
HW: pg 161: 29-35 odd and pg 169: 14-32 even
In class: Sec 3-4 writing the equation of a line
#37 Tues 10/14
HW: writing the equation of a line worksheet
In class: more practice writing the equation of line: when lines are parallel, perpendicular, using the x and y intercepts,
etc…
#38 Wed 10/15
HW: pg 170: 37-42, 47, 49-57 and pg 171: 1-3
In class: more with the equation of a line, including the equation of a perpendicular bisector extension
#39 Thurs 10/16
make-up picture day
HW: pg 179: 37-52 all
In class: QUIZ TODAY!!!
#40 Fri 10/17
HW: pg 185: 5-9 and pg 187: 34-43 all
In class: Sec 3-6 finding the distance and indicating (by drawing a perpendicular segment) the distance between a point
and a line.
#41 Mon 10/20
HW: construction worksheet
In class: constructing perpendicular segments from a point in a line and a point not on a line, constructing the
perpendicular bisector of a segment and bisecting an angle. You need your compass and a straightedge (ruler)
#42 Tues 10/21
HW: pg 185: 10-22 even (you need your compass and straightedge!)
In class: finding the distance between two lines.
#43 Wed 10/22
HW: pg 191: 1-22 and pg 194: 27, 28
In class: review for Chap 3 test: special angles created by a transversal and two other lines. The relationship between
these special angles when the lines intersected are parallel, how to prove lines are parallel, finding the slope of a line,
equation of a line, constructing perpendiculars, bisecting angles and segments, finding the distance between a point and
a line and finding the distance between two lines.
#44 Thurs 10/23
HW: review worksheet
In class: Take Chap 3 Quiz to review for tomorrow’s Chap 3 test.
#45 Fri 10/24
HW: pg 195: 1-23 odd (a great assignment to do a day early for extra test practice
In class: TEST CHAPTER 3
