CHS CEEB Code: 210381 – High School Code for Testing & Applications
Use the codes listed below to send official score reports to colleges and scholarship programs. Scores combined with your high school record, family financial situation, and/or academic achievements may be evaluated to determine college and scholarship program eligibility.
Why test prep works for standardized tests
Because standardized tests follow a specific structure and assess a standard set of concepts, test preparation can help you succeed on these tests. Test prep is effective because it is an accurate representation of what is on the actual exam, because the format and content are standard year over year.
Test preparation also allows you to become familiar with the format, timing, and content before taking the actual exam.
When you know what to expect and how to pace yourself on tests like the SAT, ACT, and PSAT, you're more likely to be relaxed and comfortable, which typically leads to better scores than if you're full of anxiety and stress. http://www.petersons.com/college-search/why-test-prep-works.aspx
Fee Waivers
Fee Waiver Programs are designed for to assist students for whom payment of the test fee could be a barrier to college entrance. Only a limited number of fee waivers are available. Eligibility is determined primarily by membership in a family whose annual income falls within USDA Food and Nutrition Service Income Eligibility Guidelines for 2013-14 predetermined guidelines. See Ms. Somerville for Waiver Eligibility Form and registration instructions.

PSAT Test Date: Wednesday, October 15, 2014
The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT Reasoning Test. The test will be administered on October 15, 2014 here at CHS. The tests consisted of two 25-minute critical reading sections, one 30-minute math section, and one 30-minute writing skills section. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in their JUNIOR year will be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program, the National Achievement Scholarship Program and the National Hispanic Scholar Awards Program. Taking the PSAT and reviewing the results will help you with planning when to take the ACT or SAT in the Spring.
Juniors, this is your opportunity to shine and qualify for national scholarship opportunities .
The test will administer on here at CHS.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
The TOEFL is an Internet-based Test (IBT) required by almost all U.S. colleges and universities for students whose principal or native language is not English. To confirm the TOEFL is required for your chosen college, students should contact the admissions office at that college.
The test is made up of three multiple choice sections: listening comprehension, structure and written expression, and reading comprehension and takes approximately four (4) hours to administer. The TOEFL should be taken IN ADDITION to the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT. The registration forms and test preparation materials can be found online on the website www.ets.org/toefl . Students may e-mail toefl@ets.org
or call 1-877-863-3546 for more information.
