AP Biology Tutoring & Mandatory Tutoring Changes:
Tutoring/Office Hours: The time has changed to Fridays from 3:30-whenever. This is open to anyone! Please come to just chat if you want as well.
Unless you request something specific for Friday tutoring in advance (at least a day before), I will just open my room for studying, asking questions, etc. If
no one is there by 4, I’m going home. But I would love to spend time with you. Please come.
AP Bio Mandatory Reading Group: If you are asked by Ms. Kim to be in the mandatory reading group, you are required to come to the reading session.
You will be mostly reading independently, but must get all required reading due for the following class completed with evidence of comprehension. The
last hour will be spent questioning, explaining, discussing, and clarifying the reading. To note, the reading group is open to anyone in the class who wants
to join and spend a chunk of time devoted to reading and (most likely) being successful in the course.
Differentiated Homework-Check: I thought of not checking homework (like usual) to continue your work towards being self-determined, selfmotivated, and responsible students in an AP course preparing for the world. However, I will be differentiating (as they say teachers must do) to
accommodate for the varying levels of self-determination and work ethic. It’s only fair that I do my job of hopefully improving your effort and increasing
your likelihood of being successful in this course. To that end, I will be checking homework at the beginning of class for some of you on select/random
days. I’ll let you know if you fall into this group. And I may take you off this homework-check group or add you to the group if I think you no longer
need this differentiation (or need it).
Genetics Unit—Key Vocabulary (highly priority ones only, there are more)
(Depending on your learned needs and style, please make flashcards on these high priority terms)
