PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
One of the uses of the Present Perfect
Tense is to talk about events and actions that started in the past and continue up to the present.
E.g.:
I have studied English since last year.
She has worked at the store for four years.
We have lived here for more than ten years.
* In this case, two signal words are used: FOR and SINCE.

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
Common mistakes:
I love English! I study English for 2 years.
I love English! I have studied English for 2 years.
My brother has knew his friend since last year.
My brother has known his friend since last year.

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE OF THE VERB
• The Past Participle of the regular verbs follows the same rules of the past form.
• The Past Participle of the irregular verbs doesn’t follow any rules, each one is different from the other.

FOR / SINCE
SINCE is used to define a point in time when the action started.
FOR is used to describe a period of time defining the duration of the action.
They have known each other for 23 years.

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
In the interrogative form, it’s necessary to invert the position of HAVE / HAS used in the affirmative form.
E.g.:
Affirmative: She has played the guitar for two months .
Interrogative: Has she played the guitar for a long time?
Affirmative: I have known her since second grade.
Interrogative: Have you known her since you were a child?
