Pay attention to which operation you are being asked to solve. Always start working with the ones place. Way to go! Multiply Whole Numbers Helpful Reminders Begin by multiplying the ones place. Regroup if necessary. Multiply the tens place. Add any regrouped tens. Regroup if necessary. Multiply the hundreds. Add any regrouped hundreds. When multiplying by a number that has more than one digit, remember to put down a zero placeholder and continue with the steps above. When finished multiplying, add to find the answer.
