Directions: After you watch Cinderella Man in class, you need to write a 2 - 2 ½ page
double-spaced paper answering the following prompt. Your paper must have thesis and
adequately answer the question below using specific examples from the film as evidence.
You will be writing an essay explaining how the Cinderella Man is an accurate portrayal of
life during the Great Depression. You must you three specific examples (scenes) from the
movie in order to support your claims.
*Use your knowledge about the Great Depression to support your claims. You may also
use your textbook/notes.
Example thesis: The 2005 film, Cinderella Man, accurately portrays daily life in the Great
Depression through the character of James Braddock. In the film, Braddock faces
hardship through unemployment, eviction, and being unable to provide for his family.
