Grammar Bytes Interactive Exercises
In order to supplement grammar that has been taught throughout high school and have students
interact more with online instructional environments, students will complete online grammar exercises.
Instructions:
1. Go to the website: www.chompchomp.com
2. Click on the gorilla face to enter the main site.
3. Scroll down to “Presentations” and look for the powerpoint that covers the unit you’re working on.
4. After studying the powerpoint, scroll to “Exercises” and click to enter that section.
5. Click on the name of the skill unit listed in the chart. Click on EXERCISE 1 of that skill unit.
6. Begin practicing the skill with the interactive exercises. Complete exercises 1-3 of the skill unit.
7. Take your time. If you’re having trouble, review the powerpoint or notes on the homepage.
Assessment:
1. Take the quiz on the designated day from the 2nd column below.
a. They will generally be very short quizzes: 5-10 items each / 5-10 minutes to complete.
b. You may have to explain your grammar corrections on 1-2 questions to prove your understanding.
2. If you score 80% > you have completed that skill unit and can move on.
3. If you score < 80%, you need to complete exercise 4 of the skill unit and review the Powerpoint
presentation and the YouTube videos that correspond to the unit (found on the home page).
a. You will take the 2nd chance quiz on the date in the far right column.
b. This grade automatically replaces the previous one whether it is higher or lower.
c. Try your best to pass quiz 1. It will be harder to study for the next unit while trying to rebound.

NOTES:
1. You will have a 3-day notice if there are any changes to dates. Dates will be posted on the Sr. Eng. webpage.
2. If you miss a 1st quiz date, you will automatically skip it and take the 2nd Chance Quiz.
3. If you miss a required 2nd Chance quiz, you must make it up in-person the day you return to school.
