When I came in contact with this opportunity through Interships.com, I was instantly interested about the position because this internship connected directly with my passion with the business side of sports. My knowledge and background in sports, along with my managing and personal skills make me the ideal candidate for this position. My first profession in the sports market was a sales associate at Nike. This experience allowed me to gain valuable managing skills while working in a fast paced environment. While not only managing the organization within the apparel section of the store, I also had to communicate directly with customers who had questions or concerns on different items throughout the store. Being able to manage these tasks on command were noticed by my managers and my responsibilities within the store were significantly increased. Although this job was sales based, it gave me valuable experience in managing situations that required quick decision-making that I could incorporate into this intern position. Another job position I occupied was being a recreation leader for the City of Gilroy. In this job I had to organize multiple sport camps that extended throughout the summer, while also communicating with my managers to assure that the camp curriculum was suitable. Running these camps allowed me to gain personal experience in dealing with adults who had children in the youth camps I designed. For example, dealing with both parents and children on a daily basis, brought about certain circumstances that I had to relate to and adapt to accordingly. Parents of the campers recognized my ability to be relatable and personal and as a result good feedback was reported to my managers. As a result, my manager saw me as a valuable team member and that recognition was reflected in my job evaluation. I will take the personal skills I learned and apply those when communicating and coordinating with professionals for this internship. My background in sports and professional skills will allow me to excel in the responsibilities required by this internship. I will call next week to assure my materials were submitted correctly and if there is any further information you should need. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Christopher Drysdale
