Students will identify their method of transportation for their roadtrip and describe why they selected that method. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 3 Lesson Tasks Discuss the selection of three leaders for the mock road trip interview & identify their exact location Select a map of the United States and organize and plot the sequence of stops along your road trip for the interviews Discuss the method of transportation you would choose for your trip and the benefits Prepare specific questions for your three leaders based on your previous research UNIT 2 LESSON 4 4 Planning and Preparing It is your turn to virtually take a mock roadtrip to interview the three leaders you have chosen. In preparation for your trip you will need to plot your course on a map and determine your method of transportation. It is also important to plan and prepare for your interviews and develop the questions you would like to ask . The goal is to ask different questions than the original interview. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 5 Planning Your Route Follow these steps to make sure you have all the information you need for a successful roadtrip. • Locate a clear map of the United States on the Internet. • Copy/Paste or Save the map in a format you can use to plot your roadtrip. • Make sure you complete the following for each stop on your roadtrip: • Location labeled with city/state • Name of leader being interviewed • Include yourself as the final stop on the roadtrip as the 4th UNIT 2 LESSON 4 6 Creating a Map You task is to find a map of the United States to plot your route. You will need to decide on a method of transportation and explain why you chose it and its benefits. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 8 Plotting and Planning Map Complete the map and route plan . Record the information on the document Plotting and Planning Map. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 9 Developing Interview Questions Prior to your arrival at each it is important for you to develop your own interview questions for the three leaders you selected. Your goal is to come up with questions that would expand on the interviews you already viewed. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 10 Plotting and Planning Questions Find the location of each leader’s company /organization and an image of your leader. Record the information on the document Plotting and UNIT 2 LESSON 4 Planning Questions. 11 Plotting and Planning Questions For each leader, develop specific interview questions to ask based on your previous research. Record the information on the document Plotting and Planning Questions. UNIT 2 LESSON 4 12 Review How did you use your previous research to come up with the specific questions for each leader? Describe what you felt were important things to consider when planning and organizing your roadtrip. Why did you choose your particular method of transportation for your trip? UNIT 2 LESSON 4 13 Review Answers How did you use your previous research to come up with the specific questions for each leader? • Answers will vary but might include things related to: • Watching their previous interview & coming up with specific follow up questions. • Coming up with questions based on what they would like to ask that leader.
