later.
Why did you want to be in the show? My wife
(Sherry) and I have been producing musicals for
almost 30 years at Wynne High School. We've
directed our son but never been in a show with

with him this summer.
What is your favorite portion of the show? "Bring
him home" because it'll be a chance to watch John
do his best work.
He also enjoys directing school and church choirs
most of the time. When I'm not creating music, I
spend a lot of my time in my shop building and
making props for shows. I'd enjoy riding my

Meet
SHERRY PHILLIANS
Sherry is 53 and is from Wynne. She is a
Music director/Elementary Music teacher
for Wynne Public Schools.
Sherry will be playing Chorus.
Describe your character: Innkeeper's Wife, Old
Beggar Woman and Guest at the Wedding:
These are three very different members of the
society and approaching the story from their
viewpoints shows that all members of this society
were truly miserable: the narrow-minded
Innkeeper's wife who couldn't give a convict a
decent break, the former prostitute, now old
beggar woman still forced to earn her living on the
streets and the well-to-do wedding guest who is
clueless that her word is about to disintegrate.
Why did you want to be in the show? I have
enjoyed FOA shows for many years. Les
Miserables' is one of my favorite musicals and the
chance to be IN a show with a top-notch cast, and
production team AND with my entire family was
a dream come true.
What is your favorite portion of the show? It is so
hard to choose my favorite scene, but my favorite
line in the musical comes at the end.."To love
another person is to see the face of God." I am
reduced to tears every time.
She also enjoys: The theatre is my passion. I love
the magic of a production, of getting the audience
to come along with us as we tell our story on-stage,
to open their hearts and minds to a wonderful tale
that makes us think and feel in ways we never
thought possible before THAT show, whatever IT
is.
I also love to read and spend every spare minute
with my head buried in a good book. Anything
that involves my family is the BEST time of all.
And would like you to know I want people to see
the injustice of labeling people. There are good
people, wonderful people, who try with all of their
being to do the right thing, yet fall into
unfortunate circumstances that put their lives on
a path that they would never choose under
ordinary circumstances. It is never the wrong
choice to love, to give and to forgive.
Sherry would like to thank my husband Dan, and
children John and Julie for putting up and going
along with my 30+ years obsession with the
theatre, my Mom, Dad and sister for all the love
and support they showered on me, to Randy
Yarnold for being a generous and enthusiastic

Miserables" is the ultimate in musical theater. The
story is one of forgiveness, grace, and redemption.
How could one not want to be a part of that?.

set, paint the set, gather props, work on costumes,
and many other aspects of the overall show. It
takes a lot of work outside of rehearsal time to put

but many also have talents that they use
contribute to other areas of the production.

Lorenzo would like to thank The cast for being an
encouraging and fun group to be a part of. And
my family, especially my wife, for their
