Is It Really Vegan?
Is It Really Vegan?
Be aware of hidden animal products.
Read the ingredients of everything. If you don’t recognize it, look
it up!

Clothing
Leather: Processing leather requires copious amounts of energy
and a toxic stew of chemicals including formaldehyde, coal tar,
and some cyanide containing finishes. The tanning process is
just as pollutant-laced, and can leave chemicals in the water
supply and on the hands of developing world workers.
Fur : No federal humane slaughter law protects animals on fur
factory farms, and killing methods are gruesome.
 Trapping: TrapFreeOregon.com
Wool: Mulesing, Shearing, Export and Slaughter
Silk: The fiber that silkworms weave to make cocoons. To obtain
silk, distributors boil the worms alive inside their cocoons.
Down: layer of feathers closest to the skin of ducks and geese
