These deep pressure vests can be used to calm the
oversensitive and hyper-responsive. The bear hug vest

A Body Sox provides a fantastic way to teach
spatial language whilst receiving additional tactile
and proprioceptive information from the Lycra.
Each Body Sox has an easy to use open-close
entrance and is constructed from four way stretch
Lycra.

Resistance Exercise Tubes

Scooter Board
Sturdy plastic tummy scooter with handles.
Available in various colours.
Ideal for upper extremity strengthening, movement, motor planning and vestibular
activities.
Heavy floor work such as using scooters can strengthen the hands and wrists, which in
turn can have a positive impact on fine motor skills such as writing and dressing.
Fun things to do on a Scooter Board:
 Body Bowling - Set up bowling pins at one end of the
room, and have the child ride the scooter board down to
knock them over.
 Fishing - Scatter magnetic fish around the floor and have
the child go find them all.
 Superman catch.
 Pull the child around with a rope or a hula hoop.
 Do a puzzle - Have the puzzle pieces at one end of the
room, and the puzzle board at the other end.
 Sorting - Have bean bags or other objects at one end of the room that can be
sorted into containers at the other end of the room.
 Shopping - Place play food around the room, and you tell them what they need to
find and get.
 Obstacle course – Make a course of things to scoot around.
 Place cones around the room, and give the child ping pong balls that they have
to place on top of the cones.

To promote in-seat behavior and attention to task, try wrapping heavy resistive
Theraband ® around the legs of the student’s desk chair and/or using a wiggle seat
(wedge or disc, depends on student’s preference). The Theraband ® allows the child to
kick and bump it with their legs, which provides a great amount of proprioceptive input
that help with both body awareness and modulating their arousal level.

Weighted Lap Pad
Lap Pads apply calming deep pressure
to the lap and upper legs whilst the user
is sitting down making them ideal for
use in the classroom, at reading time, at
the table, in the car etc.
The weight has a calming effect helping
attention span and reducing excessive
fidgeting. Shoulder wraps are designed
to have much the same effect, except
that the weight is applied on the
shoulders.
They are a cost effective, safe and
portable tool for use whenever and
