Nervous System Lab Report
Section 1: Introduction
Introduce what the nervous system is. Make sure to mention the key anatomical structures
(central nervous system, brain, spinal cord, peripheral nervous system, neurons, etc.) as well as the
functions of those structures.
Section 2: Lab Preparation
Give instructional information on how to prepare for this lab. Make sure to mention lab safety
skills, materials and tools.
Section 3: Exterior Examination of the Eye/Brain
Describe the anatomical structures found on the exterior of the eye/brain. Some key features to
mention were, cornea, sclera, optic nerves, fat tissue, muscles, nerves of the brain, exterior structures of
the brain.
Section 4: Interior Examination of the Eye/Brain
Describe the interior of the eye/brain. How and where did you cut open the eye/brain? Mention
and describe all of the key anatomical structures observed (retina, lens, vitreous and aqueous humor,
capillary muscles, optic nerve, etc.).
Section 5: Exploration
After examining the interior of the eye/brain you were asked to explore the rest of the eye/brain.
Describe the tissue that was cut through. Were you able to recognize any other anatomical structures?

Conclude this lab with a reflection about you, the nervous system, and this lab. Explain your
reactions during the lab. Describe what you learned and benefited from this lab. Explain.
