~PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula~
Reason for purchase:
Our dog Mooshoo (Yorkie) had 7 puppies. One was a still born, two died the next morning because the litter was very
pre-mature. Then two were very healthy and two were tiny and pretty much skin and bones. I had tried Hartz formula
and my vet was very dissapointed in that at the first vet visit. He pretty much told me that it was doing them more
harm than good. I had already figured that out when that formula had made the puppies and mother sick.
Right in front of my my vet popped open a can of the PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula, fed both babies
through a tube with it, guided me on how to do it and let me know that I should buy a supply and continue every 3
hours until the puppies were old enoguh and strong enough to nurse, plus some.
Purchase place and price:
Well, as stated above. The PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula was vet recommended to me by my own vet.
He said it was the best and has the most natural nutrition. He uses nothing else. To confirm this, I will leave the vet
information right here:
645 Bristol Ferry Road Portsmouth, RI 02871
(401) 683-3743
My vet's name is Dr. Burke. He is wonderful for giving helpful information right over the phone as well. So if you are a
breeder or have pet questions, you may want to keep this information handy!
While I was at my vet's office "Since it is two cities over from me" I purchased a total of 10 cans of the PetAg Esbilac
milk replacer puppy formula at one time so I would have a good supply of it for the two tiny puppies. Each can billed
on my vet bill was $3.99 in cost. The price is fair, although I would have paid anyprice to save these girls. Also they
do have a 28oz powder form for $24.00 there. However, pre mixed is most accurate for me with my busy days.

All puppies will be different. However, if your puppy is healthy enough to nurse but just needs a little extra, or if your
puppy is rejected by his or her mother, but will bottle feed. You can use a puppy nursing bottle and feed the
puppy/puppies 2 tablespoons of liquid (30 mL) per 4 oz. (115 g) of body weight. Puppies all have specific needs, and
these could vary. So with that being said the amount that you are feeding you puppy/puppies may need to be
increased or decreased depending on the puppy's needs. You can use Esbilac every 3 to 4 hours for small or
premature puppies, larger puppies (big breeds) may be 6-8 hours. Again this depends on the puppy's needs.
For tiny puppies that are not nursing, premature puppies that are not thriving and gaining weight. You should ask your
vet for a feeding tube, purchase the PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula and use the vet recommended
feeding schedule. This is best to do if you are not sure that your puppy is doing well or if you feel that the pupppy may
be starving.
Each can of the PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula is only good for 24 hours once the can is open. You
should give the formula to your puppy at room or body temperature as well. This is what is best for the puppy. 24
Hours after opening the can of forula. You should throw any remaining formula away.
Use and recommendation:
In my situation. The two small puppies were weak, cold and lathargic. They were going to die if not tube fed. My vet
recommended that I pour the PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula in to the cup that he provide. Although, any
cup would do. I had to use the syringe to draw the fluid up to the line marked 3. Then I had to put the tube on to the
endof the syringe. Now I had to hold the puppy upright, place the tube in her mouth and gently slide it down her throat
to the black mark on the tube (about 3 1/2''). From here I push the syringe just a bit. If the puppy coughed I had to
remove and replace the tube again. If not I continues to push the syringe down to the number one line. The rest of the
formula left in the tube can go back in the can. Putting extra in the syringe left less air in the tube for the puppies.
I did these steps every three hours. After just two days of doing this method using the PetAg Esbilac milk replacer
puppy formula, both little girls were active, warm and eating from the mother as well as this formula. I continued to
give the puppies 3 quarters of the dose every four hours. Then down to half of the original dose of the PetAg Esbilac
milk replacer puppy formula, every 5 hours and finaly they were strong enought o fully get all the nutrition they
needed from their mother.
The PetAg Esbilac milk replacer puppy formula saved the lives of our dog's puppies. She was a very good mother,
but the tiny babies just couldn't feed on their own. With out the vet recommendation and the use of the PetAg Esbilac
milk replacer puppy formula, there is no doubt in my mind that our puppies would have died that same day.
This formula was easy to use, thin enough to slide through the tiny tube, thick enought to fill our puppies bellys and
provided great nutrition for our puppies. I could not have asked for a better turn out. The PetAg Esbilac milk replacer
puppy formula is well worth the price to save a puppy. It is worth trying. If you want to try this and just are not sure if
you should or sure if you need to. Please take your puppy/puppies to the vet and ask about it. I highly recommend it
and so does my vet!
