Read prologue together – this is one of the most famous speeches of all time –
o We find out in the prologue what happens at the end of the book.
o Practice in understanding R & J – translate prologue
o Go over character sheet-break characters into team Romeo and Team Juliet on
the back
HOMEWORK - Read all of act 1 (2-71) they are only reading the right side of the text
(modern day).




Throw insults – students will be grouped and competing against each other for the best class
insult. Those class insults will then compete against the other classes for an English 9
winner!!
