1. Perfectly typified in Judas Iscariot
John 6:70-71— Jesus answered them, "Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve,
and yet one of you is a devil? Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot,
for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.
John 13:27— After the morsel, Satan then entered into him. Therefore Jesus said to
him, "What you do, do quickly.

2. Religious Leaders of that day anointed with the Spirit of

John 8:44-45 — You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of
your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the
truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from
his own {nature} for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I speak the
truth, you do not believe Me.
I Jn. 3:11-12 — For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning,
that we should love one another; not as Cain, {who} was of the evil one and slew
his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil,
and his brother's were righteous.

3. Released in the Early Church
I Jn. 2:18-19— Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that anti-christ is
coming, even now many anti-christs have appeared; from this we know that it is
the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they
had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out so that it
would be shown that they all are not of us.
1. Their Admonition:
Love for the true Apostolic and disdain for the false.
Jude 1:4-5 — for certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long
beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the
grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus
Christ. Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that
the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed
those who did not believe.
2 Cor. 11:12-14 — But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off
opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are
in the matter about which they are boasting. For such men are false apostles,
deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for
even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Eph 4:14 — As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by
waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by
craftiness in deceitful scheming;
2 Pet 2:1-3 — But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will
also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive
heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction
upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way
of the truth will be maligned; and in {their} greed they will exploit you with false
words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not
asleep.
2. Their Rebuke:
Loss of their first-love.
Rev 2:4-5 — But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore
remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at
first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your Lamp stand out of its
place -- unless you repent.
First...foremost in order of importance.
Love...Agape' affection.
3. Their Exhortation:
Hate for the Deeds of the Nicolaitans.
This is the spirit that motivates the false apostolic.
Rev 2:6— Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I
also hate.
The term "Nicolaitans" is derived from two greek words..."Nikos" and "Laos". Nikos is
defined as: a conquest; victory; triumph; to conquer; and by implication, dominancy over
the defeated. The word "nicao" literally means; to dominate-intimidate-manipulate.
Additionally, the term "laos" means "the people" or the "laity." Thus exacting the phrase "to
conquer (dominate-intimidate-manipulate) the people (laity)
Even with all the commendations the Ephesian Church was
threatened with the removal of it's Lampstand.
'I know your deeds (works) and your toil (labour) and
perseverance (patience)
1. You cannot tolerate evil men,
2. You put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and
they are not.
3. You found them to be false (liars).
4. You have perseverance and have endured for My name's
sake;
5. You have not grown weary. Labored And not fainted.
6. Hated the deeds of Nicolaitans.
4. The Reward of the Overcomer:
To Eat From the Tree of Life in the Paradise of God.
The Tree of Life mentioned three times in Genesis and Revelations.
Now that Tree in Eden, that Tree which was the source of life, was Jesus. In John,
chapters six through eight, Jesus sets Himself forth as the source of eternal life. He called
Himself the Bread from heaven. He spoke of giving Himself and that if a man ate of Him he
would never die. He proclaimed that He knew Abraham, and that before Abraham, He
WAS. He prophesied that He Himself would give them living waters that if man drank he
would never thirst again, but would live eternally. He showed Himself as the GREAT I AM.
He is the Bread Of Life, the Well Of Life, the Eternal One, the TREE OF LIFE. He was
back there in Eden in the midst of the garden even as He will be in the midst of the
paradise of God.
The Tree of Knowledge...the evil one. Ezekiel 28:13a "Thou (Satan) hast been in Eden,
the garden of God.“
Access to the Lord Jesus is the antidote for first love affection that has grown cold. A
remnant responded by the corporate body did not. As a result Ephesus as a city is barely
recognizable. What persecution could not do...compromise did.
