COURSE SCHEDULE FOR
CAB140-0C1: DATABASE APPLICATIONS FOR PCs
Start each week by reading the tutorial (chapter) in the textbook. The textbook contains two sections: Office and Access. The Access page
numbers start with “AC”. I strongly recommend reading and completing the hands-on tasks in each tutorial; this is your lecture material (along
with other resources). You do not need to submit the database from the tutorial.
Review Assignments (RA) are at the end of each tutorial. Download the appropriate database or use the database created in a previous tutorial
and complete the hands-on activities.
PowerPoint (PPT): There is a link to the PPT presentations for each tutorial from the homepage. After reading each tutorial, you should review
the PPT slides for reinforcement of the material in each tutorial. On each PowerPoint, I added a section called Helpful Hints and Additional
Examples; I STRONGLY recommend you review this information.
Theory Query (TQ): Quizzes vary in structure. They may be multiple choice, short answer, or hands-on. Some quizzes will take a few minutes
and others may take much longer.
Homework (HW): The homework assignment is always Case Problem 3 at the end of each chapter. Download the appropriate database or use
the database created in a previous tutorial and complete the hands-on activities.
Reality Check (RC): This assignment gives you the opportunity to create your own database using the skills you have learned.
Project (PJ): This assignment gives you the opportunity to use the skills you have learned in a real world database.
