COURSE SCHEDULE FOR
CAB140-0Y1: DATABASE APPLICATIONS FOR PCs
Start each week by reading the tutorial (chapter) in the textbook. The textbook contains two sections: File Management and Access. The Access page numbers start
with “AC”. I strongly recommend reading and completing the hands-on tasks in each tutorial. You do not need to submit this for a grade.
New Perspectives (NP) is your textbook.
In-Class Activity (IC): Hands-on activity completed in class.
PowerPoint (PPT): There is a link to the PPT presentations for each tutorial from the homepage. After reading each tutorial, you should review the PPT slides for
reinforcement of the material in each tutorial. I have added a section called Helpful Hints and Additional Examples to each PPT.
Theory Query (TQ): Quizzes vary in structure. They may be multiple choice, short answer, or hands-on. Some quizzes will take a few minutes and others may take
much longer. Remember to submit this for a grade.
Homework (HW): Homework assignment is Case Problem 3 at the end of each chapter. For some tutorials, additional questions are given as part of the instructions.
Submit (upload) the database for a grade.
Reality Check (RC): This assignment gives you the opportunity to create your own database using the skills you have learned.
Project (PJ): The project that will completed at the end of the course.
Exam (EX): The exam is in two parts; there is a multiple choice theoretical exam and a hands-on exam.
