Divisibility Rules

If the last digit is a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 the number is
divisible by two.
Example: 210 is divisible by two because the
last digit in the number is a 0.


The sum of the digits of the number is divisible
by three.
Example: 93 , 9+3=12 , so 12 is divisible by
three because 3 goes in to twelve evenly.


The last two digits are a multiple of 4 then the
whole number divides by 4.
Example: 924 is divisible by four because 24 is
a multiple of 4.


The last digit of the number is 5 or 0.
Example : 70 is divisible by 5 because the last
digit is a zero.


The number is divisible by both two and three
Example: 12 is divisible by both 2 and 3 so we
know it is divisible by 6


The sum of the digits of the numbers is
divisible by nine.
Example: 81 is like 8+1= 9 so you know that 9
can go into 81 evenly.


The last digit in the number is a zero
Example: 50 ends in a zero so it is divisible by
10
