With over 8 million visitors every year, it is the most visited museum in the world. Visitors can view works of art from antiquity through the 19th century. Since its opening in 1792, the Louvre has amassed a collection of over 35,000 pieces, including the Mona Lisa. Since it is one of Florence’s most popular sites, you may have to wait up to five hours to get through the doors during the peak of the tourist season!
