The Lord says:
"These people come near to me
with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
Their worship of me is made up only of
rules taught by men.
Isaiah 29:13
Does my BEHAVIOR
match my BELIEF?
Godly talk
does not always imply
Godly walk.
The world is not nearly so shocked at
“hearing” Christianity preached
as it is at
“seeing” Christianity practiced.

Do I BURDEN people
or HELP people?
Son of man, prophesy against the
shepherds of Israel; prophesy and
say to them: 'This is what the
Sovereign LORD says:
Woe to the shepherds of Israel who
only take care of themselves! Should
not shepherds take care of the flock?
You eat the curds, clothe yourselves
with the wool and slaughter the
choice animals, but you do not take
care of the flock.
You have not strengthened the weak
or healed the sick or bound up the
injured. You have not brought back
the strays or searched for the lost.
You have ruled them harshly and
brutally.
Ezekiel 34:2-4
For even the Son of Man
did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give his life
as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45
So often, we live as if the primary
calling of the world and everyone
around us is to make us happy,
healthy, comfortable, and affluent.
If anyone dares to get in the way of
this ultimate aim, we erupt into
anger, resentment, and bitterness.
I must surrender
my fascination with myself to a
more worthy preoccupation with the
character and purposes of God.
I am not the point. He is.
I exist for Him.
He does not exist for me.

or HELP people?
Am I more concerned with MY image
or GOD’S image?
You don’t have an image to maintain,
you have a God to Glorify!
Do I desire people to become
like CHRIST or like ME?
Am I TRUTHFUL
or DECEPTIVE?
Therefore each of you must put off
falsehood and speak truthfully to
his neighbor, for we are all
members of one body.
Ephesians 4:25
Do I desire people to become
like CHRIST or like ME?
Am I TRUTHFUL
or DECEPTIVE?
Do I MAJOR on MINOR things
and JUDGE others who don’t?
The essence of legalism is trusting
in religious activity rather than
trusting in God. It is putting our
confidence in a practice rather
than in a person, and, without fail,
this will lead us to loving the
practice more than the person.
--Thomas Kempis
Am I CLEAN on the OUTSIDE
but DEAD on the INSIDE?
Am I CLEAN on the OUTSIDE
but DEAD on the INSIDE?
