Definition: An integrated software suite – individual programs that are designed and operate together in order to connect people (workers, groups, departments, etc) to information to enable a business process. Much of what we have already learned using Excel is applicable to using Word, e.g. keyboard short cuts (copy and paste, the use of document themes and styles, text formatting commands, etc. as well as the use of formulas /tables/ clipboard and images and their manipulation and arrangements, and printing commands and techniques. 1. The programs originally were designed separately but now the designs have evolved so that they are designed to work seamlessly. 2. The core generalized application programs under study in this class are: Excel 2010, Word 2010, Powerpoint 2010 etc. and Visual Basic programming environment. Other programs are listed as fyi (for your information). see the table listing on page 10.2. of the book. An office suite may have several combinations of programs embedded and sold as the suite ( Publisher , Visio/ Project Management Software, etc). Basic, Business edition , Professional edition, Student edition, OEM (original equipment manufacturer ) editions and so on…… Generalized programs used to solve wide array of business needs.
