 Michael’s mum and dad were working in the brickworks
when their boss closed the factory down.
 Then Michael’s dad bought a boat called the PEGGY SUE.
 Their mum was made skipper of the boat and started their
journey.
Water water everywhere!
 They set off out of the harbour and started their journey around
the world.
 Michael's friend gave him a football to remember him and he held
the football when the storms were horrific.
The ships log
 On the 11th
October 1987 they
saw Africa and
were going down
the west coast
and saw flying
fish.
 Then they visited
Recife in Brazil
and then went to
Rio. They visited
Africa and went to
Cape Town.
 On a misty, stormy night , the Peggy sue sailed through the
rough seas and Michael is in the cabin with Stella Artois. They
went out to see the storm when a raging wave splashed up
over the boat and Michael and Stella fell in. He cried for help
but they couldn't hear him. The boat sailed away into the rough
waves leaving him in the ocean. Then he gets washed up on an
island and ran into the forest.
Then the next morning he saw what looked like an
orang-utan but when it got closer it was and old, frail
man with copper brown skin and a long white beard.
He was putting out the fire and shouting,
DAMEDA!DAMEDA!
GO,BOY DAMEDA! waving his stick angrily.
 Michael just saw a massive oil tanker on the
horizon of the sea. But after yelling at the top
of his voice until his mouth was dry. Then
Michael was determined to make a massive
beacon and light it to signal a ship. He thought
it maybe might come and pick him up to find
the Peggy Sue.
 Michael gets stung by a jellyfish but Kensuke
decides to save him and drag Michael into his very
house worthy cave. When Michael woke up he saw
Kensuke dabbing some water onto his body and
Stella was beside him and licked him in the ear.
Michael and Kensuke go out to sea to catch
bigger fish as the shallow water had no fish in
it. Kensuke when they stopped to fish he told
Michael about how he found the ball and how
he had all the supplies.
 Michael had sent a message in a coke bottle he found
to anybody who could see it. After he sent it out he
saw Stella holding a glass coke bottle with a message
in it. When Kensuke looked at it Michael knew
straight away that Kensuke already knew what it was.
Kensuke just looked at him and Michael knew that it
hurt him. That night there was a terrible silence
between Kensuke and Michael so he used to walk
along the beach with Stella and hoped when he came
back Kensuke would forgive him.
The killer men come
 Kensuke and Michael hid in their cave for days. Then after
they went they make a beacon lit it and then they saw the
Peggy Sue. It was a rainy day and Stella was furiously
barking on top of the hill until Michael realised that Stella
was barking at a boat. Then the boat stopped at the shore
and men came with spears. Michael and Kensuke gathered
the orang-utans and hid in the cave until the men went.
