Seminar Revelation 2:20-23 says, “Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.” 1. The Jezebel Spirit is born out of witchcraft and rebellion and is one of the most common spirits in operation today. It is a powerful enemy of the body of Christ the church. 2. It operates freely on even sincere believers. 3. This spirit functions as a controlling spirit. 4. Many people under the influence of this spirit have a true heart for God and earnestly desire to serve Him. 5. The Original Jezebel was devotedly religious but was at total enmity with God. She worshiped at the altar of Baal. Worship of the flesh. 6. The true hidden agenda is self worship. 7. The Jezebel spirits mission is to kill the prophets. 8. This spirit seeks to divest men of their authority. 9. Most deceiving to many is that Jezebel was religious and did religious things. She was the daughter of Eth-baal. Meaning with Baal. She converted her husband Ahab to follow Baal. Ahab married her against God's command. Her name means without dwelling or habitation. 10. The true explanation of Jezebel is the worship of self. 11. Jezebel hates the prophets and all prophetic ministries, specifically she hates repentance, humility and intercessory prayer because they destroy her strongholds of stubbornness and pride. 12. Jezebels love to project a sense of power they do not have. JezebelMost people misunderstand her role as one of a sexually perverse person. She may have been, but her primary role was one of usurping proper authority. Her husband the king was supposed to be the ruler, but actually, behind the scenes she was calling the shots. When Joram saw Jehu he asked, “Have you come in peace, Jehu?” “How can there be peace,” Jehu replied, “as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?” (2 Kings 9:22) Witchcraft always avoids obedience to the Holy Spirit and Lordship to Jesus and the Word of God. Rebellion is witchcraft. (1 Samuel 15:23). For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.) 1. Saying no to Jezebel will start a war. 2. She will turn on the one who refuses to do her will or submit to her. 3. NO is the operative word for Jezebel. When those in spiritual authority say no to her she is ready for war! 4. The mission of Jezebel is to kill the prophets. 5. She hates anyone in authority over her and seeks to destroy them and take their authority. 6. Control and manipulation are the strongest parts of the Jezebel nature. These ate the spirits of witchcraft. 7. Jezebel cannot control you until she has first seduces you. Beware of flattery, smooth prophetic sayings and seducing fake tears from this spirit. 8. Jezebel will look for those that are in rebellion, who are weak, wounded or those who are fighting spiritual authority. 9. She will use fear to manipulate people into submission. 10. Money is not the issue with this spirit, it is power and authority that it is after. 11. This spirit will use prayer to manipulate the one she is attempting to control. 12. Jezebel is attracted to people of power. She serves at the feet of prominent leaders. The deception is often so successful that the leader does not recognize who is at his right hand. Jezebel is not only visible in society. Jezebel is quite at home in the church pew. 1 Kings 21:9 In those letters she wrote: "Proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent place among the people. But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them testify that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death." With a heart of ice, Jezebel gained control of Naboth’s vineyard under the pretense of a FAST. She suddenly got religion when she needed it. Remember the adulterous woman in Proverbs 7? She first lured the foolish young man with, "I’ve just finished making my peace offerings, and have come looking for you." She made sure he knew she was a good religious woman before she seduced him! Likewise, Jezebel doesn’t let her sin keep her from church. Jezebel often manifests within the most "spiritual" people you will ever meet. In the Church, Jezebel will first attempt to get close to the pastor or other leaders with flattery. She will attempt to gain his confidence. She "calls herself a prophetess" and often manipulates others with her spirituality. Her deep "truths" usually result in condemnation and burdens for those in her care. The Spirit of Jezebel : By Jon Hamilton (Excerpt from the book "The Nature Of Our Enemy") 1. Two things have always plagued the church, control and desire to dominate. This power struggle has always divided and short circuited the power of the church. 2. Jezebel's demand worship from others (the queen bee syndrome) she must have dominance and control in her home. 3. Jezebel dominates all conversations. All conversations are usually one sided. 4. When dealing with or and confronting a person carrying the Jezebel, they will always run from questions. 5. Jezebel is a master of criticism, murmuring and complaining. 6. This spirit hates and shuns repentance and humility. These are two mighty weapons to be used against this spirit. 7. Jezebel is a spirit that has found access through uncrucified flesh. 8. Nothing pleases this spirit. 9. Jezebel's have a personality that has been shaped by controlling demonic thoughts. 10. The person controlled by this spirit must be willing to face truth and be willing to let God crucify his or her flesh. The flesh must be subjected to the Holy Spirit daily in order for the person to be set free from this spirit. Prayer leaders, church secretaries, worship and song leaders, pastors and their wives, You are all especially targeted by this spirit. All of you serving in these roles should be instructed and warned about the warfare that may come against you. Each of you should be part of a church "warfare team'' that is trained to war against Jezebel. -Francis Frangipane 1. 1 John 4:1- Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Test the spirits with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 2. Matthew 7:16- You will know them by their fruits. Not their gifts! 3. Jezebel hates humility and repentance. 4. Easily apparent any Jezebel is complete selfishness. She worships herself. 5. This spirit is very proud and vain. 6. Many Jezebels will be drawn to the most influential Jezebel in operation. 7. Jezebels utilizes the spirits of murmuring, complaint and criticism. Which are servant spirits in her stronghold. She uses criticism of perceived faults in others to build up her own self esteem and to justify her disobedience and lack of respect of others. 8. People who carry this spirit are full of pride and insecurity. Carriers of this spirit cannot take correction because all correction is perceived as rejection to them. 9. The Jezebel spirit is in contrast to the will of God. Her will, goals and self purposes have become her god. 10. The Lord waits for someone to confront those who carry this spirit. Many succumb to the Ahab spirit and turn their heads from the tactics out of fear. They reason that after all she is very religious. 11. The greatest weakness among leaders today is the fear of confrontation. 12. When it comes to prayer she prays for her own agenda. There is no power in that. True fervent prayer brings repentance. First, we must rid ourselves of Jezebel’s ways. We can not cast out lust when we harbor lust in our lives. We can not bring down a spirit of control if we use manipulation and hype to control others. We must examine our own ways, and repent of Jezebel. Second, it takes Jehu. Although Elijah was Jezebel’s enemy, it took JEHU to trample Jezebel. Jehu took no prisoners and showed no mercy to Jezebel. He had singleness of purpose and was driven. As he approached Jezreel those who saw his chariot noted he "drives furiously" (2 Ki 9:20) When others offered peace and compromise, Jehu responded "How can there be peace as long as the harlotries and witchcrafts of Jezebel are many?" (2 Ki 9:22) Jehu would not rest until Jezebel was dead. Her pleasures could not attract him. Her threats did not deter him. He would not tolerate Jezebel. Jesus says we too can not TOLERATE Jezebel. (Revelation 2:20) We must learn the prophetic power of the word "No!" We must give no ground! When Jezebel attempted to captivate Jehu, he did not even allow himself to be drawn into conversation with her. Instead, he called on her eunuchs to cast her down from her balcony. Those with the Jehu anointing will call to Jezebel’s emasculated slaves, and they too will cast her down! For us, the presence of authority is unending. Be it parents, teachers, management, church elders and pastors, or mayors, congressman and presidents, we find ourselves under some authority. The key to the concept of our relation to authority is found in Romans 13:1-2: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves” (NKJV). “Every soul is to be subject to authorities because God has appointed all governing authorities. The origin of all authority goes back to God. . . . Since God has appointed all authorities, we refuse the authority behind them if we dishonor or refuse to submit to them. Whether we know it or not, we resist the ordinance or rule of God. When we oppose God’s delegated authority, we oppose God Himself” (page 88).
