Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters:
About:
In 1986 the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation established the Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters specifically to
support the apostolic work of Roman Catholic sisters in accordance with his Last Will and Testament:
“Be ever watchful for the opportunity to shelter little children with the umbrella of your charity; be
generous to their schools, their hospitals and their places of worship. Give aid to their protectors and
defenders, the Sisters, who devote their love and life’s work for the good of mankind, for they appeal
especially to me of being deserving of help from the Foundation.”
Eligibility Requirements:
Only vowed members of officially recognized Roman Catholic congregations of women religious are
eligible to receive funding.
Sisters who are working full time in ministries that directly serve the poor may be eligible to receive
grants for materials, equipment and operating expenses. These grants typically have one-year terms and
do not exceed USD $15,000. Projects addressing the following needs may qualify for funding:
Education, Health, Social Services.

African Women’s Development Fund:
About:
The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is a grant-making foundation which supports local,
national and regional organizations in Africa working towards women’s empowerment. Through
institutional capacity building and programme development, AWDF seeks to build a culture of learning
and partnerships within the African women’s movement.
AWDF, the first Africa-wide grant-making fund, was established in June 2000 by three African women
who have been active in various institutions within and outside Africa. The founders, Ms Joanna Foster
(Ghana) Dr Hilda Tadria (Uganda) and Ms Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi (UK/Nigeria), have a track record of
successful empowerment interventions, which have helped strengthen the African Women’s Movement.
The objectives of AWDF are fundraising within and outside Africa, grant-making on an Africa-wide
basis, communicating the work and achievements of African women’s organizations and providing
technical assistance to grantees
AWDF’s grants range from U$1,000- U$50,000, and multi-year grants of up to $120,000 can be made to
grantees engaged in strategic work.

A Roman Catholic Lay Association, founded in Liverpool, UK in 1974. We have volunteer fundraisers
who make lectern appeals at parishes throughout England, Scotland and Wales, with one fundamental
aim: to provide mobility for those who share their lives with the poor of the non-industrialized world.
As a charity, our funds are converted into grants for all types of transport; this may be a bicycle, a moped,
a trail bike, a 4wd ambulance, a pickup, an outboard motor, - it is the people on the ground who
know what best suits their terrain. We have beneficiaries all over the developing world, in Central and

Limited and the Vodafone Group Foundation. The Foundation provides a formal process for charitable

Eligibility:
The Foundation funds projects that are to be implemented in Kenya by legally constituted and registered
