How to Apply
1. Eligibility Criteria:
 Minimum 3.0 GPA
 Minimum 12 units completed
 Coursework is in preparation to transfer to a 4-year college or university
 Declared major in one of these STEM disciplines:
o Chemistry
o Computer Science
o Engineering
o Geology
o Mathematics
o Physics
2. Checklist: IMPORTANT! All of the following items must be completed by the deadline and
included with your application when applying for this scholarship.
 Application (printed, signed and dated. No electronic submissions.)
 Essay
 Unofficial Transcripts - printed no earlier than March 13, 2015
 Resume – suitable for applying for an internship
 2 Letters of Recommendation (at least one from a STEM faculty member), which
must be:
o written for the purpose of winning the Chevron scholarship
o signed by the recommender
o submitted in sealed envelopes that are signed across the seal
o submitted WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Letters not included with the
application, will be considered incomplete.
3. Deliver all items in a SEALED, LARGE MANILA ENVELOPE (marked “SCHOL APP 2015”)

SCHOLARSHIP NOTIFICATION: Scholarships are competitive by nature. Not everyone who files an application will
receive a scholarship. Students selected to receive a scholarship will be notified by the Office of Financial Aid &
Scholarships. Award notices include scholarship in the amount of $500 in Fall and $500 in the Spring semester,
disbursement and donor information. If awarded a scholarship, the award is payable for the 2015-2016 academic
year. It is required that recipients send a note of appreciation to donors listed on the award letter.
