Explain to students that they are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This is an opportunity to ask for forgiveness and receive God’s Blessings. We do
this many times in our life. Look at pgs. 80 – 81. Make sure children understand
that there is nothing to fear. Look how calm and happy the child and the priest
are in the photo. This is very similar to how they will participate in Reconciliation
with Fr. Michael in January. Do Activity 6A then 6B. See Additional Activity pp 83
Finger Puppets. Fill in “Absolution”, “Confession”, “Grace” and “Reconciliation” in
Glossary, pp 279, 280, 281 & 284. Send Take Home Pages 87 – 88 for homework.
Start to think about doing a Service Project with your class. Check the suggested
items that were in your folder. Make sure what you choose is grade
appropriated. The children need to understand that their service not matter how
great or small, helps someone.
