Lecture Plan for Economics
Date and Time of Examination: 21 November 2011 at 09h00 to 12h00
Structure of Exam paper:
(10 minutes)
The FINAL and SUPPLEMENTARY examinations each consist of SIX (6) essay type questions.
 Answer any FIVE questions
 Economics is CLOSED BOOK examination.
 You have THREE (3) HOURS to complete this paper.


Demand , Price Elasticity, Income Elasticity and Cross Elasticity

Business Cycles

Imperfect Competition

Aggregate Demand and AD- AS Model.

Fiscal Policy and Monetary Policy
Note: Apart from the above being your main focus of study, it is important to have a good understanding and sound
knowledge of the entire Economics syllabus.
Main requirements when answering questions:

(10 minutes)
Application of theory to practice – The need to demonstrate the ability to apply economic theories and
models.

Display of knowledge and appreciation – The need to demonstrate sound knowledge of the
understanding of Economics through the use of local and international examples.

Critical analysis – The need to do critical analyses of economic issues and make recommendations to
given situations.
