Motivation
Adam works because he has to
pay his mortgage and feed himself
and his family. He gets no
satisfaction from his job and there
is no chance of promotion.
Adam’s motivator to work is
money.
Motivation
Sally has enough money put away that she does not
need to work, but she works because she loves what
she does, she gets enormous satisfaction and selffulfilment from her work.
Self-esteem
Self esteem is the degree to which you value and
appreciate yourself, it's your self worth.
People's perceptions of you as an individual will be
based on what you think about yourself and how you
behave.
Self-esteem
People with high self esteem generally have a positive
mental attitude, have high self worth and are confident
in their abilities and who they are.
People with low self esteem generally have a negative
mental attitude, put themselves down, criticise
themselves and their abilities.
Personal Strengths
It’s important to know what are your personal strengths:
• to give you self confidence
• to help you to identify what kind of work would suit
you
• to be able to “sell” yourself to possible employers.
Personal Achievements
But I haven’t really
achieved anything….
Personal Achievements

proud of and can include:

having many friends
playing a musical instrument
passing your driving test
dealing with a difficult time or situation.

Transferable Skills
Transferable skills are things that you can do that can
be applied in different situations and circumstances.
Showing motivation to achieve your personal goal of
learning to drive shows an employer that you have a
positive attitude and can set and achieve goals.
