Use this form to plan your online course selections. Select only those courses for which you meet the pre-requisites.
Please contact your guidance counselor as soon as questions or scheduling conflicts arise. Counselors will mark
recommended classes after 1st semester grades are available; you will receive this completed form on January 19.
Please note: If a course indicates “Recommendation of teacher,” the teacher will provide that recommendation to the student and the student’s counselor.
Religious Studies

Jesus and His Mission / Jesus and His Church
English



All sophomores must take Jesus and His Mission (first semester) and Jesus and His Church (second semester)
All sophomores must enroll in one of the following English courses:
English 10 (ACA) Recommendation of freshman English teacher
English 10 (CP) Recommendation of freshman English teacher
World Literature (HON) B+ or higher in English 9 (CP) or B- or higher in English 9 (HON), and recommendation of freshman English teacher
Mathematics
All sophomores must enroll in one math course listed below. Doubling in Geometry (HON) and Algebra 2 (ACC) requires your current
math teacher’s recommendation.





Algebra 1 (CP/10-12) Recommendation of current math teacher
Geometry (ACA) C- or higher in Algebra 1 (ACA)
Geometry (CP) C- or higher in Algebra 1 (CP)
Geometry (HON) B or higher in Algebra 1 (HON) or C+ or higher in Algebra 2 (ACC) and a high passing score on the Algebra 1 ECA
Algebra 2 (ACC) B+ or higher in Algebra 1 (HON), B- or concurrent enrollment in Geometry (HON), and a high passing score on the Algebra 1 ECA
Science




Any student who did not take Biology freshman year must take Biology sophomore year.
Biology (ACA) Previous enrollment in English 9 (ACA) or concurrent enrollment in English 10 (ACA)
Biology (CP) No prerequisite
Chemistry (CP) C or higher in Algebra 1, and completion of Biology
Chemistry (HON) A- in Algebra 1 (CP), or B or higher in Algebra 1 (HON), or C+ or higher in Algebra 2 (ACC) , or concurrent enrollment in Algebra 2
(ACC) and completion of Biology



Social Studies




Any student who did not take a full year of Geography OR a full year of World History must select one of these classes.
Geography (CP) No prerequisite
World History (CP) No prerequisite
World History (HON) B+ or higher in English 9 (CP) or B or higher in English 9 (HON)
World History (AP) A in English 9 (CP) or B or higher in English 9 (HON), and 3.5+ AGPA (accumulated grade point average)
College & Career Preparation (one semester) Any freshman who did not take College & Career Prep must take it sophomore year.

College and Career Preparation (CP)
Health & Wellness (one semester) Any student who did not take Health & Wellness freshman year should take it sophomore year.


Health & Wellness (ACA) Concurrent enrollment in English (ACA)
Health & Wellness (CP) No prerequisite
World Languages



Fine Arts

Academic Honors Diploma requires three years of World Language; colleges recommend or require at least two years
French 1/ German 1/ Spanish 1 (CP) C- or higher in current English course, and concurrent enrollment in English (CP or HON)
French 2/ German 2/ Spanish 2 (CP) C- or higher in French 1/ German 1/ Spanish 1
French 3/ German 3/ Spanish 3 (HON) B- or higher in French 2/ German 2/ Spanish 2
Academic Honors Diploma requires two semesters of Fine Arts; Core 40 does not require any fine arts credit.
Any Music, Theatre, or Visual Art course (Engineering and Technology Education courses and Family and Consumer Sciences courses do not
count as a fine arts credit)

 Students may request 8 classes for one semester OR for the full year.
 Be sure to list your absolute 7 classes first, and then list your 8 th class as your first alternate (your top priority).
Parents must check off that they have reviewed and agree with your proposed schedule, alternate classes, and any
applications you submit.
Please have this paper completed and available when you go online to enter your course requests to avoid delays.
REGISTRATION AND COURSE SELECTION PROCESS STEPS
Step 1: Beginning Wednesday, January 6 – Registration opens for the 2016-2017 academic school year.
Students MUST REGISTER in order to be activated for the online course requests on Saturday, January 23.
The online registration is available is available beginning January 6, 2016. To complete your registration, follow these
steps:
A. Go to www.RoncalliRegistration.org (Note: This site is different than Roncalli’s school website.)
B. Click on Registration button, and enter student ID and 8-character password
C. Review and update family data, especially address and telephone numbers
D. Submit $100 registration payment online
E. Repeat for each student, using the individual student’s ID and 8-character password
F. If you prefer to pay by check, there is an option to select that payment method. Mail your check to the Roncalli
Guidance Office, 3300 Prague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227. The student will not be activated for course
selection until payment is received.
Step 2: Saturday, January 23, 9:30 AM - Online Course Selection –As you prepare for this, be sure that you meet the
prerequisites for every class, and use the master schedule to be sure you do not have any scheduling conflicts.
Your counselor will prepare a “Guide to Scheduling Your Sophomore Year Courses” form according to the classes for
which you are eligible. You will receive this form on January 19. On Saturday, follow steps A and B above. Enter course
selections according to your worksheet, including alternate classes. Be sure to submit when finished!
Step 3: Mid-March - Attend your assigned planning appointment with your counselor during the school day.
Counselors will send passes to students for the 30 minute planning meeting on the day prior to the appointment.
