These programmes are for unemployed learners who are usually mandated for training by JCP.
There are no entry requirements
50 hours over approx. 10 days – depending on how many hours are available each day, some sessions will
go over more than 1 day – timings may vary depending on number of
learners and abilities – sessions are not set in days – each unit has the
recommended hours. It is recommended you follow the units in the order
set as many of the activities refer to previous units.
Blended learning including online courses, tutor led activities, learner participation, workbooks
To meet the needs of learners who wish to seek, gain and retain employment or progress to further
learning
To allow learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment
To provide valuable accreditation or skills and/or knowledge for learners without requiring or proving
occupational competence
By the end of the programme the learner will:
Understand how to develop their confidence
Develop the skills and qualities needed for employment
Know where to find out about opportunities for work and be able to search for job vacancies
based on their own skills and abilities
Know how to apply for a job and the different methods available
Be able to develop good interview skills and understand how to review their performance
Know how to prepare and attend an interview
Demonstrate why effective communication is effective in all areas as well as the workplace
Understand the importance of working with others as part of a team
